Mitt is feeling so entitled, he cannot envision a defeat on the horizon. Obama and his team have to keep pounding away daily. And some wealthy Dems had better step up to counter the Super PAC onslaught. Their war chest keeps growing and GOP lies are spreading like a cancer. The President must keep fighting a multi-front war, including the fight against voter suppression. Getting out the vote is mission critical. FORWARD!

I'd have to say no. Why? Because he isn't living in the real world. It's all $ signs with him. He's not connected with everyday people and they know it. He has no direction and hitting walls all the way. I'd have to say the smarter of the two is Ryan.

I'm not so sure his 'gaffe' was really a gaffe when he introduced Ryan as the next president.

maybe the RNC decided that Romney could stand closer scrutiny than Ryan could so they put Romney at the top of the ticket to front for President Ryan? after all, it has happened before:

Willard believes that he can flip flop and smear Obama as the way into the White House without a clear outline of his true plans for the presidency. Slipping in the polls he selected a too controversial running mate from Congress with draconian budget proposals and an anti womens rights pusher. He won't realize all the blow back this has created until he has to give his concession speech the night of 11/6.

TAX RETURNS ARE THE NEW BIRTH CERTIFICATE?

That really shows the IGNORANCE of the left.

The IRS accepted them with NO PROBLEM.

Name me just ONE LEGAL AUTHORITY that obama ever turned his BIRTH CERTIFICATE over too, snopes and blog sites DON'T COUNT.

You can also go to Phil Bergs, (Friend of Hillary) website and see the LEGAL TRAINSCRIPT FROM THE COURT that told obama he had 30 DAYS to turn it over.

The 30 days LAPSED, he was IN CONTEMPT but it was overturned by a HIGHER COURT real quickly.

Mitt has NEVER REFUSED ANYONES LEGAL order to show them.

WHO WANTS TO PLAY TAX RETURN FOR BIRTH CERTIFICATE NOW?

I was very silent on this issue for the most part but HAD TO COMMENT on the most popular poster at this time.

    GOOD DAY DEFINED.

I to would have been embarrassed talking with classless and terribly rude people. They must have been raised in a barn. If this prez ever came to my town and I was there (which I wouldn't be) I know I would have listened and made negative comments to myself. Hecklers are classless people raised by classless parents.

Now, betz, I know that if the President was in your town you would go see him. I know you don't agree with him on most issues, but at least you, unlike most of the Right Wing, still respect the fact that he IS the President of the United States. Hell, I went to see Ronald Reagan give a speech once. (NO I did not heckle him!!)

As for Ryan, I was referring to the fact that he has been saying since his elevation to the ticket that he "wants to talk about the real issues", yet when he attended an Iowa state fair and was asked a question about an issue his response was "I don't want to talk politics, I just want to enjoy the fair." (paraphrase)

Besides, classless and rude people get to vote, don't they? Or have the Republicans decided to exclude all rude people from the voting rolls too, just like the poor, students, senior citizens and minorities?
  • betz ProudPr... 2012/08/21 23:38:17
    betz
I thought you were referring to him making an attempt to handle the people with no upbringing. No I would not go see the president speak. I really would not. I will say that both Reagan ( a whistle stop) and Bush (to Fort Meigs) came to our little town back in 1984 and 2000 and I went both times. I even got my sign signed by Bush. There has never been a democrat who has visited our town. It's a pretty darned conservative suburb so we don't have to worry about that hapening.
No rude and classless people are allowed to vote....I hope only once. :)

Funny how when President Obama took office we were in free fall and heading for a second Great Depression with the unemployment rate shooting up to 10.1%, yet now we've added four and a half million new jobs despite historic Republican obstructionism, have had 28 straight months of private sector job growth, the stock market has pretty much doubled since the Bush lows, and Federal spending has been slowed to its lowest rate in half a century.

PLEASE, give us four more years of such "chaos".
  • Soundstorm ProudPr... 2012/08/21 23:13:10

Playing your worn out Bush card is a losing game. When Obama took office we were in Dodd and Frank's free fall through their stewardship of Freddie, Fannie and Countrywide. Congress makes economic policy and the Democrats who were handed Congress in 2007 due to national war weariness own the the economic crash.
A little lesson in basic economics for your poor Socialist soaked brain. Private sector job growth is ALWAYS ongoing. We live in a world of hunger and need and people don't have the luxury of not creating jobs in the toughest times. Even when jobs are being lost at the incredible rate they have under Obama's presidency. But you purposely omit that last part. Also the even more embarrassing part about the pathetic 1.5% growth in GDP this year. You don't really have another card to play.

If private sector job growth is always ongoing, then why did Bush have a net loss?

As far as GDP growth, would you REALLY prefer the 8.9% GDP LOSS that Bush handed to Obama?
  • Soundstorm ProudPr... 2012/08/24 07:08:18
    Soundstorm
All you can cite are generalizations that Bush caused this financial crisis by 'lowering taxes for the rich' and 'deregulating the finance industry'. But you only play these cards to avoid having to give a genuine explanation of how this happened.
The 8.9% GDP loss was handed to us by the overseers of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Countrywide. Namely, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank in the Democrat dominated Congress which is responsible for our government's economic policies. As the ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee Frank encouraged housing loans to risky borrowers by Fannie and Freddie. And as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee Senator Dodd benefited from preferential terms for refinancing his mortgages with Countrywide while proposing a bailout for them. But the Democrats set this financial bomb decades ago with the Community Reinvestment Act which mandated lending institutions to provide subprime loans to high risk borrowers particularly in minority communities.

Oh, and guess what! The Obama administration through the Dodd/Frank created Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will be pushing the loan industry to write bad loans AGAIN! http://www.nypost.com/p/news/...
So this is what you're voting for?
  • ProudPr... Soundstorm 2012/08/24 11:51:11
    ProudProgressive
LOL not this one again. Note with particularity the phrase "ranking member". In case you weren't aware, that is what the senior member of the MINORITY party is called. In other words, the "crisis" that you try to pin on Barney Frank was passed by a Republican MAJORITY. And was signed into law by the President at the time, whose name was George W. Bush. But let's continue to ignore reality, shall we? Besides, while the housing crisis is serious, it was not the primary factor in causing the Bush Recession. During Bush's term national revenues dropped by over 30%. That ALONE caused our national debt to DOUBLE.

Oh and one more thing - the CFPB has nothing to do with mortgages.
  • Soundstorm ProudPr... 2012/08/25 06:41:04
    Soundstorm
Barney Frank's party was only in the minority since 2010 after FOUR YEARS of Democrat dominance in Congress when the crisis came down. Don't think you can get away with screwing with the chronology, butterball. He's done his damage and is retiring now. And George W. Bush is no indictment of Conservatism. He's part of a dying breed of RINOs a growing number of Americans consider part of the liberal establishment problem.

The CFPB has NOTHING to do with mortgages you say! Do tell!

The impression I get is that they are already in panic mode. Ryan didn't give them the bump they were hoping for, and so far his performance on the road has fallen flat. They're getting further and further from the truth with each new attack ad, they seem petrified at the mere thought of discussing any details of their "plan", and of course every day that Romney doesn't release his tax returns is more lost votes. At this point I'm guessing a lot of Republicans would love to dump the ticket and nominate someone electable, but they're too cowardly to actually do it.

I guess voter suppression is their only hope now.
