Does Obama have room to talk?

I was just watching Obama latest ad talking about Romney’s
out sourcing. Does he have room to talk
when his Jobs Czar Jeff Immelt shipped thousands of jobs to China? Including the whole divisions of healthcare and medical instruments.

Obama always has room to talk, though it is usually out of both sides of his mouth and out of his ass at the same time. The ultimate in triangulation.

No, he doesn't, but that will not matter to his followers (including much of the press) for they will approve anything he does.

We may feel it necessary to vote for Romney and some other politicians we don't fully agree with, but we don't whitewash or adulate them.

Barack Obama, like most lefties, has no understanding of the free-market system. Not only does GE's Immelt outsource jobs, Obama's DOE has made loans to companies which manufacture overseas, e.g. the Fisker "Karma" which is built in Denmark.

He also put money into a battery company that is located in Europe. Now some of the research in the battery company is also done here, so I hear.

    Note to Obama:

    Step 1: Create jobs
    Step 2: Talk about outsourcing...

If Obama ISN’T outsourcing jobs, why does the unemployment rate stay at a constant 8% or higher? I know, it's Bush's fault, yada, yada, yada. Any knowledgeable President (Dem or Rep) could have lowered the unemployment rate by at least 1% after almost four years in office, without blaming his predecessor!

He can talk all he wants! Trouble is telling everyone that more federal dollars being dolled to the States & Local Governments to hire Police, Teachers & Firefighters is not going to bring back the Manufacturing Jobs!

Neither will a poorly thought out Health Care Plan that does nothing to actually imporove care and bring it inline with what the nations we compete with spend on theirs in relation to total GDP.

Less than a decade later, the mill was padlocked and some 750 people lost their jobs. Workers were denied the severance pay and health insurance they'd been promised, and their pension benefits were cut by as much as $400 a month.

What's more, a federal government insurance agency had to pony up $44 million to bail out the company's underfunded pension plan. Nevertheless, Bain profited on the deal, receiving $12 million on its $8 million initial investment and at least $4.5 million in consulting fees.

He has the right to talk, but the words that come out of his mouth is hypocrisy. Granted that jobs were being outsourced before he came into office, but he failed to change that damage.

On the flip side Romney doesn't appear to be any different, but only time will tell.

I was really hoping that Huckabee would run as I know that he is a true conservative. I hate having to choose between the lesser of what I think is two evils Huckabee would not support The Patriot Act nor NDAA. I wrote the Romney camp and asked for him to drop his support of these 2 infraction of the Constitution. 3 weeks and not a word.

I worked for a division of a fortune 50 company in finance. We relocated an operation to San Diego to be near our Mexican assembly plant. We ended up having to layoff around 400 employees. the alternative was to shut down the operation entirely, in which case we would have layed off an additional 250 people. Additionally, approximately 200 U.S. subcontractor jobs depended on our business. Sometimes you have to outsource to remain competitive. The low value added jobs were outsourced while the high value jobs in engineering, administration and logistics were saved.

The Company that I worked for took a different approach. Now we did out source our molding department. But we sent it to an operation that was in another state that di not have the taxes and regulation that Calif has. Nor for the 450 employees that we had left in the operation we had to make cuts there as well. We kept up the same production goals and cut 200 people by designing automated assembly machines. Even this operation we relocate to another state. Management got tired of dealing with the City of Irvine and California.

San Diego seemed equally hostile to manufacturing. I don't get it. The jobs we saved were all pretty good paying jobs. Not everyone can work at Sea World. The jobs outsourced were assembly jobs that went to Mexico. They were still company employees, just not U.S.. Again, the alternative was to call it a total loss, shut it down and write off all of the tooling and equipment.

They did not have the ability to automate? Simple robots are easy to design. We were able to eliminate a lot of people and saving many people jobs by doing this. I was one of the designers that had that goal. It did take us a couple of years to do it.
there was only 2 of us doing the design work. I only did it part time as I was also the process engineer and Tool Room Supervisor.

We used simple Allen-Bradley controls which are very easy to learn how to program. I think that many of them could have learned how to program them. We had rs232 ports and a lap top. Everyone in maintenance new how to program them and so did some of the people that did the setups. A program for each machine was on the network. File name match the machine number.

I sell CNC Machine Tools in SoCal. It has become more and more difficult for my customers to find competent programmers and job set-up people!

Other than a company doing it yourself by simplifying things there really are no viable training programs for this. The Stimulus in 09 had Nancy Pelosi porkup $175 Million for Family Planning in a year they got an increase anyway. That money would if utilized well could be yielding results now as manufacturing has in spite of many things slowly been on the rise.

I know about the problem. We had CNC equipment and had the same problem. The schools no longer even have shop classes. So you can not even find people that know the basics. I had a worse time trying to find Tool Makers. I needed people that could work on their own as I was designing the tools working as the process Engineer and trying to Supervise the Tool Makers at the same time. To go along with that for over a year I was also trying to Supervise the molding Department.
