Does Obama Have a Corrupt Administration? Rep. Issa Thinks So

President Obama’s detractors have called him a lot of things: a secret Muslim, a socialist/Marxist and a typical big-spending liberal. But, starting this week, you may hear him called much worse: corrupt.

California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa, who is about to take over as the chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in the new GOP-controlled House of Representatives, has promised to make good on threats of a flood of subpoenas, investigations and probes of Obama administration policies from the past two years.

Speaking to CNN’s “State of the Union” over the weekend, Issa started off by backtracking a bit on previous comments he’d made on Rush Limbaugh’s show calling Obama “one of the most corrupt presidents in modern times”, clarifying that what he meant to say was that Obama has “one of the most corrupt administrations” in recent memory.

“When you hand out $1 trillion in TARP just before this president came in, most of it unspent, $1 trillion nearly in stimulus that this president asked for, plus this huge expansion in healthcare and government, it has a corrupting effect,” he said by way of explaining his rationale for the label. “When I look at waste, fraud and abuse in the bureaucracy and in the government, this is like steroids to pump up the muscles of waste.”

Anchor Ed Henry reminded Issa that it was the previous Bush administration that had actually put TARP through, but Issa remained determined to put the blame on Obama. Confronted by Henry, Issa quickly rolled his comments back, claiming it wasn’t TARP he was actually talking about.

“Trillions of dollars in extra money that were basically used like Presidential earmarks … President Obama inherited $800 billion worth of walking-around money with no guidelines so that what was supposed to help financial institutions ultimately bailed out car manufacturers,” he said. Issa put some of the blame on Congress as well, saying they were at fault for not demanding a “blow-by-blow, dollar-by-dollar” plan for spending the cash.

Do you agree with Issa that this administration is corrupt?

If you compare verbatim some of what the president has promised or said regarding Health Care and other issues with the facts, there is no doubt that this administration is the most corrupt in history. There has been sidestepping of the Constitution in the enactment of the Health care law and/or circumventing of fair processes in the House or Senate. There are too many lies to list. If anyone truly believes there is no corruption by this administration then they must be sipping on the yak and/or living on other planet. Furthermore, to rebuke those who believe the administration to be corrupt by citing we are mean or prejudice is ludicrous. Just examine the uncovered facts weighed against the President’s word in some cases, or against the word of any one of his administrative officials, or cronies in the House or Senate—that’s all. There are enough news and talk forum sources that have uncovered the facts concerning Obama administration lies and corruption with proof to back it.

Does a bear crap in the woods ? Our Government has been corrupt since Jefferson sold us out to the Bankers and the Slavers to become president. You can just replace Obamas name for any president back to George, couldn't keep it in his pants, Washington.

Where was Issa when the real corrupt administration was in power. He could have kept himself reallly busy investigating George Bush and Dick Cheney about Haliburton, deals with the oil companies, weapons of mass destruction, outing secret service agents, torturing prisoners, billions of dollars missing in Iraq and Afganistan, firing attorneys who would not bring bogus voter fraud charges, transporting Osama Bin Ladin 's family out of the US after Sept. 11, 2001, shooting people in the face, lying to the prosecutor in the Scooter Libby case, secret prisons, Blackwater contracts, etc.

Here is the perfect example of why we should have kept the Republicans out. President Obama could have conducted a number of investigations into the lies about Iraq, the numerous companies like Enron, World Com, Tyco, Healthsouth, and so on who biked their employees out of their pensions while the executive sold their stocks, Valeria Plame, the firing of Justice Department lawyers, illegal wire taps without warrents, the list goes on. But no, they place those things in the past and for the good of the Nation focus on rebuilding our financial foundation and reestablishing this nations place of prestige in the world.

It goes to show you who the Republican party work for and it is not the American people. They work for corporate American in fleecing the middle class and poor of our nation. They will waste hundreds of millions of dollars and fine nothing, just like with Bill Clinton and Whitewater.

The lies about Iraq? Which one? Is it where mustard gas was used to kill thousands of Iraqis?(TRUE) The Saddam had weapons of mass destruction? Those very same weapons that President Clinton and Sen. Hillery Clinton said he had? (Buried evidence shows he was working on them) Enron, World Com, Tyco, etc, were bilking their employees during Clintons reign of terror too. Valery Plame was vetted by a DEMOCRAT! The Justice Department lawyers that were fired, were also the very same ones that Pres. Bush appointed. (But you forgot that Pres. Clinton fired all 97 at once!). Those illegal wiretaps, were toward calls to KNOWN TERRORIST countries (BTW, your boy BO expanded those wire taps too!)

    Who's lying now?

Where did Saddam get the gas? We allowed him to acquire them to fight the Iranis during that war. No one in the world gives a sh*t about the Kurds, they are the middle east gypsies. Every one in the region kills them because they have no national allgeiance. We used them to spy on Saddam and every other nation in the region, including our NATO ally,Turkey. What a load of bullsh*t, that we invaded to protect them! Man I fear for the future of this country,we have become a nation of gillible sheep. People who can't navigate to the next county are waxing wise about situations overseas involving decades of political moves and counter moves. God help us!

No question. And I frankly hope that all of the sidestepping they have managed to do so far causes the immediate removal of the contemptible little CEO parasite Jeffrey Immhelt, the dangerous and radical Cass Susstein, and most important of all, the immediate jailing of Eric Holder, who is the worst and most corrupt attorney general since the Reno the Destroyer of Women and Children who should have been given life in prison for murder.

Blanket assertions don't fly, nor does asserting corruption just because you disagree with policies, legislation, or Executive action. It's quickly becoming apparent that those proclaiming corruption do not understand the definition of corruption...

what are you even trying to defend? Every administration has corruption. Power by its nature for those who seek it ~( especially for their own ends)- corrupts. Name me the administration that ISN'T corrupt (or I should say riddled with it). That is the real task. Though I admit I feel the the ones and.. I mean all of from from LBJ to to current; have been getting worse with each go. But is that the administrations or just that they all keep the same basic policies?

Nothing there but more unsubstantiated conservative blather... Where is the supporting evidence from this conservative publication - not one link to a verifiable reference? You shouldn't believe everything you read.

From CFP describing themselves: "Espousing Conservative viewpoints, cornerstone of which contain love of God, love of family, love of country, CFP maintains a loyal and growing readership."

The article covers a lot of territory and none of the assertions have links to sources for validation, but this pretty much says it all and is true for any empire state:

"A country that is the font of war and oppression, whose dominance rests on the weak reed of puppet states, and whose economy is collapsing will not long remain dominant."

Back on topic - I consider the Obama administration to be nothing more than Clinton/Bush lite - i.e., conservative lite - on foreign and monetary policy and plainly just more of the same ol' quest for US dominance. Considering that these are established US policies, do you hold Obama at fault for continuing them?

that being said... let's go a teeny bit backward... Obama said clearly he chooses his friends and associates very very carefully... and so he appoints these people Issa is mentioning... Obama appoints them.. chooses them carefully ... instructs them ... places them above AMERICAN eople who respect and choose the United States of America Constitution ...

Issa was correct at the first ... as wel as now...

Let's look forward if we may ... to what SHOULD be. This man respects MLK/Lincoln/Washington and the ideals of the Constitution of the USA and recognises islam/shari'a as the gravest threat to mankinds freedom .

Of course he's created the most corrupt administration in US history and those who continue to support him are crazy because none of them care AT ALL about you.
