The Abrahamic cultists commandment, "thou shalt have no other gods before me" doesn't just demonize any "god" who is not Yahweh/Allah/Jesus, it condemns those who hold a different concept of the divine than they do, to such an extent that the worshippers of even the Abrahamic "god" cannot get along.

People who want to believe that something or someone is evil when under normal society scrutiny it is not considered evil is what causes terrorism. If a religion is like that then it promotes terrorism.

I can not remember who said this in the past but it was over 100 years ago that much I remember. He held up the Quran and said " As long as this book exists there can be no peace in the world".

How do you figure that. The Quran specifically states three times. "Kill all unbelievers." Find that in the bible for me.http://www.youtube.com/wat...

Like the Bible, it contradicts itself.

Sûrah 6:108 And insult not those whom they (disbelievers) worship besides Allâh, lest they insult Allâh in spite (q.v. Matt. 7:1). Thus we have made fair-seeming to each people it own doings; then to the Lord is their return and He shall then inform them of their account.

When the Ottomans invaded Hungary centuries ago, they allowed the residents Freedom of Religion. Not like today's Wahhabi (Mostly) who are running amok.

Did it not say in the Torah to kill all the goyim men and 'known' women then rape the (remaining) virgins?

The Torah is specific yes. The order was given to a specific person to do a specific action in a specific time. Unlike the Quran which propagates the destruction of all non believers throughout all time. In Islam their are rule for this religious freedom and it is based on the teachings in the Quran.

You're tarring all Islam with a wide brush. The ones I hang out with (Sufis) discuss with me the (Gnostic) Gospels, Torah, the Apocrypha & even the Tao much more than the Qurân.

Technically, Muslims ARE Christian & it's a given that some get too carried away and regard Mohammed as a demi-god (to the Sufis, he was just a man) very much as many Christians get carried away with Christ being the ONLY thing. You can get too religious about your religion

Ah yes a Sufi. But we infidels know the contention between the two groups and that you two can put aside your differences temporarily to defeat the infidels in the world with the understanding that you two can pick up on your little war with each other later.

man defined religion? Some religions will cause terrorism, others will not. Blanket statements just are not applicable without statistics which I don't have.

That is true but fact is not all religions are equal in this regard. (causing terrorism). Well first one has to define terrorism. Indoctrinating kids at a very early age to believe in only one way is a form of terrorism I think.

I believe churches that preach brimstone and fire tend to be terroristic. But churches that preach peace and the lessons of Jesus are not.

Not sure how many members of the groups I mentioned would be found in those wars you mentioned.

Religion does not cause terrorism. Terrorism is a response to oppression from a people whose oppressors are so powerful they have no other means of carrying the fight to them. Example, the French Resistance fighting their Nazi oppressors, or the Jewish settlers fighting the British overlords in Palestine, or the Mujaheddin fighters trying to expel the Soviets, or NATO, from Afghanistan.

Make no mistake, if they had access to Remote Drones and Apache gunships with Hellfire missiles, if they had vast swarms of bombers to rain destruction on their opponents the so called "terrorist" would be killing exactly the same way we do.
