What makes me even sicker is the right wing brainwashing of mature adults that have the ability to think for themselves, and a voter ID!!!

Actually the claim is a rebuke against those who claim "homosexuality isn't natural." The fact is it's existence is found....in nature citing dolphins would make it obvious that's it's natural. I believe what the anti mean is "because it's the minority, and we are by species predominantly gender sexual as means of procreation, the alternatives are incorrect for humans."

I get even more upset when people suggest a web site devoted entirely to putting up opinions, to then be discussed, should end in favor of "tolerance".

If you cannot reason your "opinion", or are unwilling to have it questioned, you should not post here...

Indoctrinating children with religious or political beliefs should be considered a form of child abuse. Vulnerable minds are not something for parents to toy with.

If a religion is truly as great as each of it's followers claims to believe, they should have faith that when a person reaches an age where they're able to think critically and ask questions, they will find their way to that religions naturally. No manipulation should be necessary, those who engage in it have no faith in their religion or their children.

With that logic, we should take children out of school & not teach them anything, because any form of education is "indoctrination". Let's please not "manipulate" them into believing that 1+1=2, or that rain comes from the sky. They should grow up first, experience it for themselves, then come to the logical or natural conclusion. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

You can insult me as much as you like, you're only making yourself look foolish and petty, I've presented my opinion respectfully. Using 'reductio ad absurdum' to oppose a point of view reeks of nothing but emotional desperation.

Indoctrination is closed-minded thinking, it's biased to one perspective alone, children should be taught numerous perspectives and then to question everything until they figure out the truth for themselves or at least whichever perspective they prefer the sound of. For instance children should be taught about the creation myth, the big bang theory, the theory of evolution and many other ideas, but they shouldn't be taught that any particular one of them is an absolute truth, as it's not open to interpretation or that future evidence being presented won't cause a much needed re-interpretation. This girl in the linked video was obviously indoctrinated with biased Christian beliefs, but if she'd been allowed to grow up with an open mind and was then taught about Christianity as a young adult, she'd be truly independent and free to make up her own mind. Some religious people don't want to risk that, because they have no faith in their children, themselves, their religion or even their deity. They have to indoctrinate, because they know the alternative will mean the inevitable demise of their religion.

Actually, no, I am not making myself "look foolish & petty". You drew first blood with your ignorant-based insult when you stated, "Indoctrinating children with religious or political beliefs should be considered a form of child abuse." That comment of yours is born of stupidity, hate, ignorance & disrespect for others. It is untrue, to boot, but let's not let truth get in your way of your anti-theism, shall we?

You are representing everything you have insulted me over: indoctrinating others in your own bigotry, biased comments, intolerance for others' right to teach their children values (e.g., manners, morals, keeping promises, respecting others, the Bible & the US Constitution). I'm sorry if you believe these things should not be taught to children, but yet cannot understand that those things DO affect society in a POSITIVE manner. What you & yours would have taught (indoctrinate) to our children include things such as it being healthy to masturbate anytime they want, to have sex with anyone outside of marriage, that homosexuality is "normal", that telling "white lies" is necessary, that gossip & maligning others is good, that cheating on tests "isn't that bad", that the US Constitution, like the Bible, was just written by a bunch of old white men from another time & place,...

Obviously, it is people like you who have "no faith in their children", because you think that by teaching them good stuff growing up, they will continue being good & not make their own independent decision to be a miscreant.

If I joined an evil Satanic cult, as an informed adult, then proceeded to take my son along to meetings, knowing full well that he will end up being greatly influenced by everything the cult does and stands for, wouldn't YOU consider that a form of mental child abuse?

Sad. I hope she takes it down; when she grows up and learns about the real world hopefully her past bigotry won't be held against her.

Not shocked that the video on top is "8 reasons why homeschooling rocks".

absolutely. I couldn't watch the whole thing - it was making me ill. I find it so sickening that these people think it's perfectly fine to deny civil rights to an entire group of people. Then they cite a bunch of untruths (best environment for children, etc) to support it, along with utter fiction (the bible).
