But that is generalisation. You are taking what *most* are. What about disease? What about inability to exercise? And hormone conditions and genetic factors play their part too.

There are other factors but those other factors have been around as long as mankind has existed. The present problem of overweight people is a new phenomenon that is primarily caused by our modern lifestyle of sitting around and eating the wrong stuff.

Hell, I'm not even American. But the Olympics are supposed to be something that pulls a nation together, as well as all other nations together, and everyone gets to feel proud and have a fair shot at the medals.

So I think it'd make sense to have a uniform that was made in your own nation and that the job went to your citizens.

What bothers me is that we are going to the Olympics when we have over $16 Trillion in debt and deficits in the trillions...when do we stop spending on unnecessary activities...and start restructuring and reforming the massively bloated and fraudulent public sector operations including their millionaire pension scams...

If it saved taxpayer money than it is okay by me. If the US wants to keep more businesses here, they should make the regulations more business friendly and lower the penalizing taxes, etc. That is why companies in other countries can manufacture items more cheaply.

I choose the answer OTHER. I wouldn't own a foreign car but, anyone that drives one and said yes to this question is a lying hypocrite. You don't support the American workforce but,you have a problem with someone representing the country wearing a uniform from a foreign country?

With all the problems this nation faces this is what gets Harry Reid and Congress upset? Seriously? Does this not bother anyone else? 15 Trillion in debt, Fast and Furious, unemployment, Euro and Dollar crisis, Syria, and on and on it goes but when ole Harry hears about this it's time to get serious! What a joke!

Not only that these uniforms were made in China, they are so ugly. These uniforms don't look as though they represent the U.S. Olympic teams. They look like military uniforms. http://copingwithfrugality.co...

What is made in the USA anymore? USA companies don't care what its citizens want. They care about the bottom line, period - and that is their bank accounts and stockholders.

Not as much as the amount of Debt Obama and the democrats have run up and was taken over by china. The staus of a few olympic uniforms being made in china is far less dangerous then the status of the US debt run up by Obama and the democratswhich is being controled and bought up by china.

True, but these uniforms are absolutely ugly. Those beret type hats look hideous. They look more like military uniforms, than for a U.S. Olympic team.

I would like to see these American atheletes of ours go as they dress every day. In their own clothes. Each one carrying our flag. It would proclaim, WE are the USA. And for one more moment, still free.To some degree. The heck with uniforms. In contest`s, sure. In the parade? What for ? So we look like everyone else ? Baloney.

No, it's because they're representing a country and they're part of olympic teams silly.

Fascinating. They are claimed by our country when our country offers no help or support. But, we are a forgiving people overlooking such neglect, and claim this country as ours. Does being on an olympic team require a submission to apparel ? Team uniforms during competition but for a parade? What looks like our youth? Their clothes are unique in the world and copied. Not uniforms.I`d like to see our atheletes be themselves. Not kens&barbies.Just once.

Sorry, I can`t see a collection of old fuddy-duddy, removed from reality folks presuming to chose uniforms for our kids. I left out doddering. The Chinese connection is about all I need for proof. I`d much prefer to see an American Co. have the business. The Chinese have to much of our business already. They don`t need it. We do.

They have a lot of our business, for the same reason that our government doesn't care that Mexicans hop the border in droves --- cheap labor.

Can you honestly say that you would rather pay twice as much or three times as much for those designer jeans that you insist on having?

A lot of people are complaining about the way our food is produced these days, and the disgusting practices of these food factories and factory farms, yet they refuse to stand by their principles and judge with their wallets by buying better quality food, and sacrificing lack of convenience. Paying more and buying smart is what it's going to take, in order to change things

I think our well paid politicians are responsible for the economy and high costs. They took us off the silver standard in 1964. Prices and inflation have been providing big profits for the politicians and their buddies ever since. Our dollar has lost some 30 + times it`s value. And we are told " well the dollar is worth $.86 to-day, and the DOW fell another x # poitnts. What a crock, the dollar is worth - 300% and falling. I guess I`m venting a bit. Soon it will not matter, we will not have to be concerned about styles. There will only be one for women and one for men. Commonly refered to to-day as rags.

I'm sorry, I clicked the wrong button, how do I correct my vote? I think the uniforms should be desroyed and redone. Ralph Lauren did NOT need the business. They could have even used a Project Runway winner!

The uniforms are so ugly also. United States Govt. never pays a dime to send our Olympians to the Olympics. Russia always paid their Olympians travel expenses especially when they were the USSR.

For me, this is indicative of the "more important things" that we need to worry about. The economy isn't going to improve until people can freely spend money. People cannot spend money if they're unemployed. Unemployment will continue to rise as long as companies continue to outsource more & more jobs
