Does Islam have a proud tradition of tolerance?

From a historically relative position there seems to be a valid discussion. Currently it doesn't appear to be the case.

OMGosh.... excuse me... I got the hiccups laughing. Wasn't Attilla the Hun a muslim? Anyway, the would appear to me that they are most INTOLERANT people to ever disgrace the face of the Earth. COme on haters.. hate!! Show us what side you're one.. your true colors, because my colors are red, white and blue and those colors do not run. They kill one of ours, we need to kill two of theirs. Uncle Sam needs to go knocking on a few doors. Teach 'em how we taught Japan.. bomb them clear off planet.

Then again, I don't know of any religion that has a proud tradition of tolerance. Islam is the only abrahamic religion that to this day has a large contingent of individuals who still believe we live in the 7th Century A.D.

Today Islamists have Death Penalty for apostasy / blasphemy in over 14 countries.
Also, islamists have terrorism against infidels in all countries they have their presence.

In the past I remember history lessons:
They ask village to convert to Islam. If you don't convert - they start jihad & fight you, if you do convert to Islam - they invade your village and slaughter left over infidels without resistance.
Similar psychology they use today.
If you accept "soft" sharia law by banning criticism of Islam, serve halal, etc., they will still attack you from the inside with terrorist actions against infidels & will practice full strict sharia law in parts of your country, until they will have only muslims in one area (by terrorising non-Muslim neighbors) & than they will want to separate this area from your country & create from this area their own Islamic republic.
They did it in many countries & sometime it takes tens of years or century to accomplish their goal, by jihad / terrorism.

Political Correctness is their weapon against the West.

Obama is all for the Islamic faith. He talks about it all the time. About how Islam has benefited us all and how we owe what we have to Islam.

No. If you look at the whole history they were tolerant at certain times and places, but only when it was in their own interest. The real truth tells a different story, as we are seeing currently.

Oh yeah, as long as you fully believe in Islam then they have plenty of tolerance. Try leaving and converting over to Christianity though and see just how tolerant they are. Just like most liberals. They are also plenty tolerant as long as you agree with what "they" have to say and "their" ideas. When you decide to have your own ideas that aren't "theirs" then they will call you names and put you down and probably call you a racist to boot.
