if control means that parents or relatives of the mentally ill or exceptionally angry don't allow them to have access to their guns. I do not approve of more laws to attempt to control the lawless.

~we already have too many gun "control" laws that we can't seem to enforce~ This is a gun grab plain and simple~ a set up for the possible coming collapse of the economy and the riots that could follow~ gotta control the peasants, you know~~

Why does my answer say yes when I did not say yes. I guess the only way I can get around this answer is this. I say anyone believes it and someone believes it but no one actually believes it.

Never has worked and won't work now. It's just smoke and mirrors to keep the liberals happy while they lead them to the fields.

the government should take a real close look at NY, Chicago, LA, then grow half a brain and reconsider. If the ban does go through at least I know a few cities i can visit to get my AR for cheap anyway.
Outlaw guns and only outlaws will have guns

If you do then you are an idiot! You can tell the criminal how you feel and well he will be lying in his own blood should he come into my house or attempt to hurt my family!

Absolutely not, I think it will increase, because many robberys, and other violent actions are stopped because the people have guns to protect themselves, now just think what a free for all it will look like to criminals when there are no guns. I'm talking houses being robbed stuff like that

Banning Guns just means the Criminals/Government (Same thing) are the only ones with guns.

It is actually easier to buy an illegal, unregistered gun, at least in California from what I can tell.

Crazy thing to think. In areas where gun control is strictest, there has been an increase in violence. And why do you think? The criminals know that honest citizens can't defend themselves.

Truthfully I think it may just increase, because there will be fewer individuals able to intervene. Targeting trained and responsible people who choose to arm themselves is not the answer. Crazy people and criminals are always going to find access to guns no matter what legislation is passed.

Gun related violence has been going down for 40 years and the FBI has said that the last "assault weapons" ban had no effect on gun violence. There are plenty of other studies including studies by Harvard and the Cato Institute that show restricting gun ownership does not reduce the number of murders and in fact may be counter-productive. Here's a link that talks about the Harvard study.

Let's stop calling it "gun violence" and recognize it as just violence, no matter the weapon used. It's not "car violence", "knife violence", "poison gas violence", or "fire violence", and all can create mass death as well as a maniac with a gun.

I thought the same thing today as I listened to the hearings and the phrase "gun violence" was used repeatedly in testimony~ It is as if they are trying to brainwash the American public watching the hearing~

The weapons ban that was in effect from 1994 to 2004 did nothing to lower the rate of gun violence - in fact it increased. That was the primary reason it was not reinstated - it was not effective. The current attempt is more intrusive and will be equally ineffective because it doesn't address the problem. It is DOA in the congress and senate so it is an exercise if futitility from the start.

How's that working out in the "windy city" of Chicago? Oh it's not! How did that work out in the 90's? Oh it didn't. Our Ivy League universities must be so proud of their flunky politicians. Insanity...doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different result!

yes! Guns have supernatural power! We are Powerless! When Man picks up a Gun, it takes over..and When A woman Picks up a Gun..It becomes mindless shootings....wait...I know this just does not make sense. Can I erase all this before a liberal finds it and re writes History? :)
