Every President has writers who help with even the simplest things - have you noticed how the slightest mis-statement can be turned into days of screaming headlines?
I think, a more important question is: why do YOU feel compelled to ask this about Obama, when it's true of every President?
Does any one wonder why OBAMA needs a written speech to read at a time of such terrible tragedy in Colorado?? Why cant he just speak from his heart ?? Just asking

This is a mystery to me , that OBAMA has to have a written speech in front of him to read at this time ......Why doesnt he just say whats in his heart?? I KNOW i will get jumped on for pointing this out but I am wondering if anhy one else thinks this is a little strange?

Obama CAN not give a SPEECH without reading it. He does not even read the MESSAGES before he READS THEM.
Stop and think about how many errors he has made WHEN trying to talk WITHOUT a teleprompter and a prepared speech. Meechelle is the exact same way.
For TWO IVY LEAGUE, Harvard educated EX-LAWYERS they are both poor examples of a Law Degree from Harvard.
His entire speaking style was learned at the Knee of Reverend Wright of Chicago Fame.
Once he got into the WH. His mentor, must have tried to POLISH his speaking style. I suspect that he COULD only talk off the teleprompter.

Why did he choose to "stage" his message to Colorado at a campaign event with the crowd clapping and flags waving and a political message delivered before the message of condolence?
He just had to use the crisis to politick...he shot himself in the foot in front of all of America.
The Networks said they were going to Obama for a message to Colorado and he took care of campaign business with campaign waves and all. He's a loser. There were hundreds of other venues available to him for a serious message!!
You need to seriously get over yourself. There were no political stunts by either Obama, or Romney (who was also at a political event by the way). The only ones shooting themselves in the foot & looking like fools, are you & those like you who lack the ability to cast politics aside once in a while.
Otherwise you would have been outraged as well. I don't care what he said.
I care that he used a campaign venue and his yelling, clapping raucous supporters to set the stage and politick, before he delivered the tragic message! That's what was on TV for the world to see!

Obama chose to make his "presidential" message of an American tragedy AT a Campaign rally!
Romney DID NOT make his comments AT a campaign rally in front of cheering, yelling, clapping campaigners. He has too much class and empathy for humanity do do that!!
I knew you hadn't seen the original that I, and so many, found totally offensive because OBAMA did indeed deliberately politicize a tragedy.
Out of respect for the families of victims and survivors I hope it never is broadcast again. It was an insult to every American by a president who has no class.
