It’s common knowledge that former Congressman Anthony Weiner has had trouble suppressing his sexual appetites but if one of those appetites is the rape of his wife – Huma Abedin – his mother-in-law shouldn’t object, according to the standards of a group she endorses.

Saleha Abedin, Weiner’s mother-in-law, is not only a leader of the Muslim Sisterhood but she has endorsed the mission of the International Islamic Committee for Woman and Child (IICWC), which includes the acceptance of marital rape. This became apparent when her name appeared on the list of participants of the Islamic Conference for The Islamic Uprising.

    Yes. Sharia law permits it.

First William, your answers are crap. On this type of question, there should always be an "other" because yes/no does not allow for a full discussion.

Tell it to Wieners mother in law. In Islam there is no discussion. It is exactly what it is a violent oppresive state of being for women. And for non Muslims living in Islamic Republic nations.

Just as there is no choice if you follow the bible too. Non-Muslims are not forced to go to Sharia courts on matter. Government courts are used.

So check yes or no and leave a comment to justify your choice. What is so difficult about that?

I doubt it. Marital rape was perfectly legal in the US until about 30 years ago.

    "Ephesians
5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing."

Some would say that it is also acceptable in Christianity.

I guess they could. But in Islam it is clearly stated to do this. Where in Ephesians is this physical violence condoned? It's not. One can not judge a faith by it's abuses. One must go to the source. Christ would never approve of this action. Mohamed on the other hand encouraged it.

In Ephesians, marital rape isn't considered violent, nor a crime. The wife is supposed to just lay there, take it, and be happy with it. How do you know Christ wouldn't accept it, did you speak to him about it at length? Assumptions do not count.

This is your interpretation of Ephesians. I am not saying it does not happen. My question was simple. Does Wieners mother in law condone rape of her daughter? The Qur'an is specific. It also condones the beating of a wife with a thin long stick. And we have that in writing.

And the Bible is just as specific when it comes to rape as well. neither book is just, and neither book is worthy of my following. Does it really matter how explicit something is? If one book says "go forth and rape your wife", and the other says, "wife allow your husband to come forth and take what you do not want to give", is there really a difference??

I honestly don't think it's much different under Christian teachings than it is under Islam. Granted, i know a bit more about Christianity than Islam, but I don't see a huge difference there on this subject.

OK imagine yourself living in Iran. Or Afghanistan. What do you think you would be wearing? How many wives would your husband have. I mean I just don't look at the pictures of people in these places. Put yourself in the picture with them. Only then can one begin to understand.

It is acceptable in Christianity. Look at Michele Duggard's Talking points --

"- A husband needs a wife who accepts him as a leader and believes in his God-given responsibilities. Husbands are commanded to govern their wives. God works through a man's decisions - good or bad. Bad decisions reveal his needs and allow the wife to appeal and demonstrate Godly character. The more a wife trusts her husband, the more careful he will be in giving her direction. Never ask others for counsel without your husband's approval. Reassure your husband that you understand and believe that he is your God-given leader.

    - A husband needs a wife who will continue to develop inward and outward beauty. How can you become more of the wife of your husband's dreams? Discover and conform to your husband's real wishes. Explain your hairstyle to others on the basis of your submission to your authority. Separate your "rights" from your responsibilities.

    - Ask your husband to define your responsibilities. Ask your husband to tell you when you have a resistant spirit. Dispel a backbiting tongue by silence. "

As a man, if a woman were to take this to heart, I wouldn't want her. I want an equal partner, not a slave.

Then the same attributes would apply to you as a man because you are obligated as a Christian (presuming) you are obligated to love and cherish your wife and hold her dear and forsake all others. Sounds to me that you can work this out equally and it should not take much of an effort. All the two of you have to do is contemplate who is on the cross to know the meaning of really true love and why he is there. Then take a look at what Mohameds life was like and what he taught.

I am not obligated as a Christian, as I am not a Christian. Who is on the cross? noone is on the cross, as there is no proof that happened.

His wife is Hillary Clintons deputy chief of staff. There is no evidence that the president appointed her to this position to the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Considering her actions in Middle Eastern affairs and the U.N. it would not surprise me if he did.

Anthony Weiner is an exhibitionist. We know nothing about his sexual appetites, his relationship with his wife and child, or his relationship with his in laws.

He is no longer of any significance,so who cares?

don't be a tool - he lives here and he is trying to break our laws based on Islamic law .
BTW - for your logic to hold water I would need to see a world where liberals said the the same thing about President Bush ...he is out of office so why does it matter ...right ?
