Do you think Timothy Geithner owes an apology to Intuit, the maker of Turbo Tax?

Yes, he should apologize. Intuit did nothing wrong.
No, his contract employer, the government, did not explain it to him.
He knew darn well what he was doing!
Hey, I'll do my taxes on Turbo Tax so I can get away with not paying my taxes.
Turbo Tax is a rotten piece of sh........

I have been self employed for years and paid my self employment tax. Turbo Tax has never let me down in terms of my returns when I did use it. The only way he could have gotten around this was to intentionally not enter information. Should he apologize to Intuit for blaming their software for his tax problems?

It is only as good as the information you put into it - he decided to cheat on his taxes and did. Just that simple, and now he heads up the IRS. Well the mantra of the dems, "It is not unethical when we do it."

Geithner set a bad example for an Obama nominee in his appearance before congress. Let us only hope that he is more forthcoming when appearing before congress about matters that will affect us all.

I'm still amazed that he gets confirmed to run the Treasury which oversees the IRS yet he couldn't even get a job the IRS because he cheated on his taxes. I'm glad there were at least 36 people in Congress who voted not to confirm him.

He's a scholar-ed economist....well versed in the pros's and con's of the money market. It's his responsibility to thoroughly research his tax advisers. If he's going to be our nations economist....were screwed. He's a bonafide cheat and a moron.

If that man had any shame he would've withdrawn his name from consideration to be head of the Treasury department. Hell, he should have stepped down from his job as head of his branch of the federal reserve. Geithner is a liar and a thief.

Obama is as crooked a politician himself, so I expect no better out of him.

Intuit may lose business because of a new perception that their software doesn't pick up everything.

This is what I don't like. This is a company that is doing well, employing people, not asking for a bailout or anything. I think he owes Intuit a public apology.

(Disclaimer) I don't work for Intuit nor have I ever.
