I don't consider myself an expert on image forensics.... And I doubt the White House would enhance an image like that to make him look "messianic". But that totally looks fake or enhanced.

I can't believe the White House picked that picture of all pictures because it will surely generate a controversy about church and state and further fuel those critics who say President Obama acts like "The One" or a messiah.

I saw this on Red Eye the other night and thought they joked.

Well, about 6 years ago there were complaints about the positioning of backlights, etc. behind photos of President Bush. The liberal media created a huge fuss over "a deliberate propaganda campaign to use subliminal Christ imagery to depict Bush in the media". Those photos weren't photo-shopped. These are. The argument is actually true this time. And the photo is on the official Whitehouse webpage, lending further credence to the argument about a propaganda campaign.
