Barack Obama made headlines Friday as he stated that his administration will no longer deport young illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. when they were children. His announcement, as expected, was met with part-joy and part-skepticism -- as well as a heckler who constantly kept interrupting the president as he spoke.
"These are young people who study in our schools, they play in our neighborhoods, they're friends with our kids, they pledge allegiance to our flag. They are Americans in their heart, in their minds, in every single way but one: on paper," the president said in his speech Friday morning. But he was also quick to add that this is not a permanent answer. "This is not amnesty. This is not immunity. This is not a path to citizenship... It's not a permanent fix," Obama said. Do you think the U.S. should stop deporting young immigrants?
Great interview on the Last Word tonight with the kid, who is no longer a conservative and and now has more left leaning views. Love it
Uhh wait a sec ...I thought that was not allowed anymore...I wonder why May 4th is so big...
happily married women who had successful careers prior to marriage. Guess it worked...holding on to your core values and not being subjugated to others negative philosophy. Joseph, TV showed the Obamas standing at the pledging of Allegiance with Mrs. Obama whispering "why such a fuss over a flag" to a smiling president. Their mike was on. They're human and not royalty or 'gods'. Remember, your 'big boy pants'!
Under the Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Immigrants who are deported and attempt to re-enter can be imprisoned for 10 years. Visa violators can be sentenced to six-year terms. Mexicans who help illegal immigrants are considered criminals.
The law also says Mexico can deport foreigners who are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” violate Mexican law, are not “physically or mentally healthy” or lack the “necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents.
Seems we should at least have our borders impenetrable at will..
How dare you to presume what my ancestors would think of me or beliefs!
You may have noticed that time has changed our world Bonnie. It's a dangerous place, and our enemies can easily penetrate a border that our president has vowed not to protect. I am to a lesser degree concerned about immigrants coming here looking for work. Since Obama put our economy into a tailspin, immigration of that kind has kind of come to a stand still. All we have to worry about at the moment is drug cartels and terrorists.
Let me ask you Bonnie - are you in favor of drug cartels and terrorists having free reign over our borders? Is that what YOUR ancestors would honor?
My ancestors wanted to assimilate into America. They wanted to be American. They educated themselves, and became citizens legally. They learned the language, got jobs and did all the things that citizens do. The same opportunities are available for new immigrants. Until they do so, they are not citizens.
Is this getting too complicated for you Bonnie?
Your defense of criminal activity is pretty lame. And your closing statement about Mexican drug people becoming rich and the majority in America is just stupid.
I can believe in drug dealers? I'm sorry, I don't believe you meant to say that. Are you being held hostage and trying to send a message?
We'll vote Obama out of office in November Ben, then the hard work of putting this country back together again will begin.
That is hardly the best thing ever. Obama is a miserable failure and if he sticks it out and actually runs for second term, he will suffer an embarrassing defeat.
Ready for it, are you really wanting the answer?
Go after those people who hire them, no jobs, no one coming here, simple and it wont cost us billions of dollars.
The problem is that there is no WILL to fix the problem. And, it's my opinion that it is a political matter.
And by the way aneed, lose the attitude, it's very unbecoming.
It reminds me of a lecture a professor gave on internet/intranet security, there has never been a program that has never been compromised. Trust me on this.
What attitude, it seems to me we are having a civil debate, and you just dont like how i responded. I still say the best way to prevent undocumented people from coming into this country for work, is to go after those who hire them, much cheaper.
The issue is whether we US Citizens will allow this man to trample the Constitution.
He said himself he didn't have the right to do this.
Freaking pandering, vote grubbing idiot.
