Barack Obama made headlines Friday as he stated that his administration will no longer deport young illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. when they were children. His announcement, as expected, was met with part-joy and part-skepticism -- as well as a heckler who constantly kept interrupting the president as he spoke.
"These are young people who study in our schools, they play in our neighborhoods, they're friends with our kids, they pledge allegiance to our flag. They are Americans in their heart, in their minds, in every single way but one: on paper," the president said in his speech Friday morning. But he was also quick to add that this is not a permanent answer. "This is not amnesty. This is not immunity. This is not a path to citizenship... It's not a permanent fix," Obama said. Do you think the U.S. should stop deporting young immigrants?
No one says that their children are worth more than yours. This is suppose to be a free country not Oceania. I frankly don't care what other countries do but I do care what my country does and I don't want my tax dollars going to throwing some poor kid out of this country when he has spent most of his life here and considers himself an American. This is an imaginary fear put forth by republicans. The fact is during good times illegal immigrants are high but during bad times illegal immigrants drop like a lead balloon. So when there is high illegal immigrants, times are good.
I'm sick of this cutting in line crap, there are actual hard working legal immigrants trying to get here and Obama is undercutting their hard work to come here legally.
Obama doesn't have the power to bypass Congress, He's a dictator now because he's trampling all over the constitution in how this country works.
He can't just say "screw the American public,I'm going to do whatever I want..."
He's doing it for votes and furthermore Obama is doing something illegal on top of all the other illegal things he's done, seriously why has this guy not been labeled a traitor yet?
I'm all for immigration but when jackass' try to cut in line in front of honest immigrants it pisses me off.
What he said is just as stupid as when Romney said "They should deport themselves." REALLY?! ugh... :|
It's time this country stated kicking ass and taking names again, what's wrong with Washington?
Tell me, why should they get to cut in front of people who've waited years to get in this country legally?
What did you ever do to earn your citizenship …
No wonder he doesn't have time to do his job and the economy is allowed to slide.
If someone comes into your house without permission, it's breaking the law; it never mattered if they didn't know the law, as ignorance is no excuse. If they come into a country without permission it's the same thing.
If a kid is born outside the U.S. and is brought is by parents, send them all back, parents and children.
If a kid came here by themselves, send them back. We hold our own children who are citizens to the same laws, why not those who come from other nations?
Amnesty is a joke as it does not do anything but either pass the problem down the line or encourage more to come in hopes of another "Amnesty Fix".
Paper does matter, especially if you hold your own citizens to that law, then so should anyone who comes to the U.S. illegally.
The thing that needs to be addressed it how difficult becoming a citizen is, aside from trickery like the anchor baby issue.
I've several friends that are illegal and it's almost unanimous between them as to why they came here illegally. The system in place takes too long to get anywhere and according to them is also very selective. I'm not sure if it is corruption or the system is just dated, but that is where the problem lies.
They know my stance on things and they know that I would support them ...

They know my stance on things and they know that I would support them being deported if it every came to that. That may sound cruel and heartless, but in reality if you come here and never have any intention of becoming a citizen then I say the boot to you and come back when you are ready.
Obama needs to fix the wound and not put some campaign band-aid on things.
Do you think it's fair that people who break the law should be able to jump ahead of those who take the time and effort to be here legally?
You still have not answered my question...
