This whole house of cards now depends on how financial markets and the EU are going to react to Greece's default on Friday and whether or not the other weak nations of the Eurozone don't follow. It is time to start seriously thinking about ourselves and not the rest of the fracking world. Isolationism has its benefits.

If the conservative fringe stays out of the way.
I think they are realizing that their efforts to make Obama look bad are backfiring and will probably cost them the majority in the House and seats in the Senate as well as the presidency.

Yes, but if we want to see more rapid improvement, we'll have to get rid of the Republicans.

There are alot of factors involved, like the Middle East as usual, refineries closing, gas prices, I hear the dollar is weak and that's a factor, not sure about that.

What about the REAL numbers? Including those who gave up looking for work, the actual unemployment numbers are 15%. Why don't you report that!

With the weekly increases in petroleum prices, the economy will take another hit. Petroleum based product prices will continue to rise. This will slow down any hope of a economy growth.

With the continued rise in gas prices and the on going unrest in the European economy coupled with the recent announcement of a downturn in China's economy, I can see no signs of positive economic growth. Especially considering the abject failure of Obama's economic policies to provide anything more than a bandaid to a hemmorage.

Hey; Econ 1A. Dump borrowed money on an economy, you get a quick boost right away, then the price comes due..... right after the election.

It can, but the question is will it? Not saying anything, but do the Repubs want it before the election or will they do everything they can to prevent it? It would be very good politics and the sheeple can't do anything about it.

There are still almost 1M LESS people working than when Obama took office 3 years ago, and with the over 6000 new regulations coming from our government monthly, sustained high gas prices, and the additional burden Obamacare is about to put on business, we will be lucky if we do not have a total collapse.

And for good measure, Obama has said repeatedly if reelected, he will raise taxes more, which will kill more job growth

Sure. There are presently numerous energy projects underway which brings thousands of workers to a state. There are the Marcellus and Utica shale formations up east. 20,000 new workers have come to Texas' Eagle Ford . There are also Haynesville and Barnett. Carrizo Springs. The Bakken formations in the Dokotas and Wyoming. Jobs, jobs, jobs .

The Nat. Geological Service is updating its estimates of oil reserves almost daily, and the number is going up. Thanks to new technology improvements, enormous oil and gas reserves are now far more accessible and environmentally safer.

The only thing that stands in the way of more and faster exploration is the political bickering in Washington that is nothing more than political posturing... day after day. Last year, the enormous energy sector in Houston poasted 72,000 jobs. Most applicants were not qualified. Not educated enough. They brought those workers in from over seas. Yet we have a presidential candidate right now who insists that getting a college degree is "snobbery" and " elitist".
