At 18 I didn't really think about politics. These days it seems politics are on my mind all the time.

To be honest at the age of 18 I didn't do too much political thinking.

My thought processes have not changed, but some of my conclusions have, possibly due to having more knowledge to base them on.

When I was young and idealistic I thought government stuff was free. Then I started earning paychecks and got that rude awakening.

I claimed I was a liberal until I grew up and realized those views would lead to a lack of individual liberty. I have been a registered independent ever since. I am right leaning lately.

When I was 18 I discovered much to my amazement that the Democratic Party was in favor of sex, drugs and rock and roll. I didn't really have any strong political leanings until I was 30 when I discovered much to my amazement that the Democratic Party was in favor of killing the unborn.

In the intervening years I have learned that there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. World peace is a pipe dream. Humanity is actually an integral part of the eco system. Getting ahead is damn near impossible. We do the best we can with what we've got.

At 18, I was much too self-centered to think about politics. I was more concerned with boyfriends and dating and working.

I was a liberal at 16 but a conservative by age 18. I turned 18 the year that 18 year olds got the right to vote. I've voted in every general election since.

Yes and no. After college, my position only became stronger, more concrete. Probably because my government professor was a die-hard progressive liberal. Boy, I sure was a thorn in his side but on the upside, I made friends...Liberty is still popular, gives me hope.

Yes, at 18, as same as I knew at the age of 10 years old and now at age 52; all those in our high government are no good, corrupt to the core, lying, thieving, scumbags of the earth. No matter what party they are.
