It means we have always had a low quality of life if we have never risen, and still are not rising, above these acts.

a shooting is certainly no pos. indicator for life quality, but probably no neg. one either and certaintly not the only one. t's more complex. I think life quality has risen over the years, ask your grand parents.

Depending on all kinds of machines(sitting idly in front of a computer) in order to increase productivity but all the while wasting money in gyms to “stay healthy”; Yearly decrease in or extinction of different kinds of trees and animals all around the world; Air, soil, water and visual pollution sinking into our pores day by day;not to mention that crime rate(not that crime never happened before) has increased because of the social gap between poor and rich ppl, as well as because of lack of moral values, no time to reflect on our actions and their consequences; Social issues such as alcohol, drug, child, verbal or physical abuse; Areas in third world countries affected by racial fights and not remotely accessing the so-called luxuries of life the decades has brought to other luckier countries. built environment, physical and mental health, education, recreation and leisure time, and social belonging.” And next time, omit the term “overall” in your question.

Did you know ppl are discriminated in India not because of their monetary status but because of their caste?Did you know nowadays even students have started making porn?Did you even hear about the mysterious death of Michaela Harte during her vacation with her husband?"Sustainable increase"?Lol..there shouldn't be even a slight increase in crime rate if we are to move towards a better society.

there are always fluctuations. the indian caste system is around for a while, but indian people are becoming more educated. Individual fate doesn't count as an indicator. students do porn? so what. they always had sex, now they have cameras. no reason to freak out.

This is an indicator of how our society has allowed and will allow moral value to degrade.Apparently, you just speak to Indians but have never been there.Even they won't admit the truth.Ppl who live there know their misfortune of having been born in a low caste family.Education means nothing to them if it doesn't get them a decent place in society.Countries waging wars for the sake of oil,or power,or for years of enmity, ignoring the fact that all their resources are wasted on ammunition while civilians are living a poor lifestyle(referring to North Korea here).I'm sorry to say that for a few ppl in a few countries to have the privilege enjoy a jogging park or maybe a spa centre, it doesn't mean that the whole world is living a life of "good" quality.

I rather have people with no pseudo-moral than with a suppressed sexuality.
How will indians get a place in society without education? Noone says everyone lives in a good quality, but that doesn't mean the the quality of life is increasing and I guess that is not reflected properly in the "news".

"suppressed sexuality" was once known as self-control.Being educated doesn't mean you have a status there.There's a series called: "Satyamev Jayate" on Youtube about India and the truth.I suggest you go by that.It's a national series, with all the "proof" you want.As for the "news", apparently it's only looking at all the modernity of the world(computers,landing on the moon,means of communication)and overlooking at what price those were achieved..but then again,it's not the "news" to report that..it's read between lines..

the news are mainly about spectacular events and sudden changes and those are mostly negative. Most positive progress is slow and not covered by the news. You say it: suppressed sexuality was called self control. i kind of agree, but it doesn't mean it is self control at all.

I would rather call it "keeping one's horniness under control" but it's better that way..the growing hatred towards our own neighbours,hidden frustration,corruption and all that is as well not covered by media.Progress is happening,but taking into account moral standards,which is much more important than luxury and stretching from our home to the people in the opposite side of the world,we're far from the society that should have been formed.

corruption is something that is done hidden, so it is hard to cover. But corruption scandals are covered. Hatred, frustration are subjective. we are probably still far from a perfect society, but things change.

We've now reached a point where bringing back moral values into our lives to the same level as money or any other comfort is not likely.Should have changed way before you asked the question;my answer would have been different.

It would be a good thing if sexual suppression was in a decline with no return, but I'm not so optimistic. Considering the real moral values like to act selfless, honest, respectful and with a sense of duty, I don't know how they develop.

Given the high probability of more wars, lower incomes for the masses, the super rich taking control of everything and manipulating the price of food, oil, housing, rents, wages, interest rates, taxes, precious metals, and commodities of all sorts, to their own gain at everyone else 's pain, quality of life for most people will be decreased. Drastically. That's not even taking into account the devastating effects climate change presents.

Quality of life will increase for the wealthy but decrease for the poor.

Save your money. Among other things.
