I'm not sure there's been a ruling where the Justices decided one part of the Constitution was more important than the other parts. Usually if it violated the Constitution, it was just tossed out. Everyone knew Obamacare violated the Commerce Clause, so the Justices just randomly re-defined what this thing actually was and decided Congress's ability to tax something trumped the Commerce Clause.
I know that flies over everyone's heads here, but this is serious doodoo. Now all Congress has to do is pass a tax and anything they want is peachy-keen with the Supreme Court. That's flipping crazy.
Do you think the Founders are rolling around in their graves right now?

Fellow citizens are guilty of apathy and not caring about the constitution that protects us. Fellow citizens are out protesting and trying to dismantle the things that have made this country great. And it is fellow citizens who want to give up on the American way of life, follow Obama, and change our country into a socialist, or worse, a totalitarian government. They will not realize how precious our constitution, or our freedoms were, until they are lost. I think that would sadden our Founders and the thousands of soldiers that died protecting and defending this nation the most.

If in the opinion of the people the distribution or modification of the constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates. But let there be no change by usurpation. ~George Washington
We shouldn't give lazy bastards all the nutrients at the expense of the hard workers.
I have had people on the government tit heckle me at my job sites that "The working man was a fool because you can get beer money, section 8 housing and not sweat at all".
And everything the government touches becomes a big inefficient money drain. American business is much better with the money than government workers with no incentive to make it smooth, efficient and effective.
Do you think a successful company would continue to employ the same CEO that ran a deficit that grew every year? Well the government employs thousands of them. They get reelected and they get bonuses, vacation and health care. Obama care will just be another financial nightmare with many becoming billionaires while the public gets a good f**king. I believe this because of our system and not because of political affiliation.
Yes, because private insurers have done the job SO well... Give me a break. Their incentive isn't to make things efficient, it's to make profit. They do that by denying the coverage their customers pay for whenever they can get away with it.
I'd rather have everyone covered, thanks.
What is the precedent that you base your opinion on?
What does the American government do better than American business?
Its funny how people are so against businesses making money that they prefer that the government charge more tax and waste the money.
You cut off your nose to spite your face.
Throwing money at the government when they can't even balance and
spend what they have already is an idiotic idea.
Why invest in the government that is failing rather than American business? If I operated in a massive deficit for years and years. and could not even raise taxes fast enough to match my out of control spending would you trust me with your family medical care?
Bottom line for me is simple: I believe it is reprehensible to treat the health of American citizens as a commodity to bought and sold and weighed against a profit margin. No one has the right to make money off my health except the doctors who protect it and the people who assist them.
