It was overvalued... They should have stuck with the earlier valuation and not raised the IPO price based on the hype and fervor. That just made Facebook and the underwriting firms look bad in the end.

Anyone who thought it was worth the initial asking price however, have no one to blame but themselves.

They should have had the stock a lot lower so the average "joe" could have bought.
Say around $15.00 per share sell in blocks of 500

I think it was intentionally mishandled. They hid information about future growth and did trading and promotion. JP morgan warned some of their clients about it.

It was deliberate. It made 200 brand new millionaires and everyone got sold something that is worth less than they paid.

not that I really care, but GM screwed him and so did the folks handling his stock. It was also kinda high, so those who bought it got screwed, lol....not me, I want something that pays dividends.

mishandled by the public offering sponsor/underwriter and by the Nasdaq

The individual investor gets beat again...with little recourse...
about 80 to 85 % of all stock trades are Hedge funds and High Frequency Traders..
they are all there to out smart the individual investor...
there is no wonder volume on the overall market is so anemic......the little guy has
    been scared away.......

From technical execution by NASDAQ Computers to questionable rating/re-rating by underwriters, there are growing questions over how this was handled.

I see many things that shouldn't be public. Too many people "hanging out their wash".
