Is the United States on the right track? The economy, education, war, taxes, healthcare and much more is on the line in this election. This is not just about the candidates and the few that want to hold/maintain power, this is about the direction of the country. What type of Republic do we want to live in? What about the Constitution? Do we need more government in our lives or LESS?

As Jon Huntsman stated, "there is a crisis of confidence" amongst the American people. Americans are sick and tired of the Washington gridlock and partisan games. Americans are more divided now than at any recent point in history!! No one believes that their elected officials are looking out for them.

Many movements have surfaced since the last election. The Tea Party movement is the most well-known and most successful. They have managed to have tremendous political influence in policy decisions.

The Occupy Wall Street movement captured the attention of the world, but has lost steam due to a lack of organization and clearly defined goal.

Ron Paul's message of Liberty has resonated all across the U.S. and especially amongst young voters. These Libertarian-leaning Republicans are far more grassroots organized, tech-savvy and focused on their specific policy demands. Something candidate Romney will have to embrace to unite the party.\

I believe these movements are all an expression of frustration from the American people at their government. They are all advocating change and they want it NOW!!
This Presidential election will decide not just the captain at the helm, but the course which the ship will sail.

Do you think the country is headed in the RIGHT DIRECTION??!!

No we are not. We have put man and money and the greedy need to have more and more stuff ahead of God. Our world is the worst it has ever been, despite all the technology. Is the end near? I don't know, no one knows but God. What I do know and believe with all my heart is its going to get worst, way worst than even we could possibly foresee.

Not only is it not getting better. It looks like it might be headed in the opposite direction.

Obviously not. Unemployment is still up. There is talk about going into another recession. Companies still sending jobs elsewhere. The country seems to be more divided now then anytime in the last 30 years. I'd say we've taken some major steps backwards.

Coming out of a recession no matter how slow is better than going into one.

1Q13 is projected to be the 'start' of a 'new' recession.

i'm mystified why the 'leadership' has said that we ever left the last one.

There is a reason why we are the last standing republic, after all the others have either been toppled by force or pulled down from with in. The constitution makes us unique.Unlike when the progressives took over Russia, all they had to do was kill a few czars and ministers and the country was theirs. Or fore fathers knew the down falls of these other ideas from history. Were the ideas had been tried and proven a bad choice. Now most of the world is ruled by these oligarchies, which has created a ruling group of elites. There is only one thing keeping this from become a communist/socialist world, with one supreme leader and one party. Absolute power! (which corrupts absolutely).
I still must ask the question, "Where are you going to find the angles, who will throw aside their own self interest and only care about ours? I would even trust any one on this sight to do that." (Milton Friedman)

And it will continue in the wrong direction as long as Obama is in office. The private sector is not "fine." That's why it is so important to vote him out in November.

America's self appointed role as global hall monitor has cost more than ever imagined. When our soldiers die on foreign soil for ambiguous motivations there is an inevitable fracturing of trust in the Government. Coupled with the hemorrhaging debt that Obama doesn't seem to think needs suturing. If America was a ship the Captain would have walked the plank by now, or the crew at least would have gone AWOL.
I've never heard 'civil war', 'mass exodus', America's 'defeat', 'implosion', 'alienation' etc
resounding in the daily dialogue of Americans. The wrong track has been taken & the wrong track may well be selected again. People are confused & voting emotionally rather than logically. wrong track wrong track selected people confused voting emotionally logically

Not yet! Not until we can get an adult in the White House and a few more in the House and Senate! Adults are supposed to be able to say "NO"! Apparently, we have too many who can't say no to the children in the checkout line!

I do not think that anyone administration can get us back on track. I do not see anyone that will or can make the hard decisions. Things would get very tough for a long time even if they did as it would get worse before it gets better. Bandages and patch could get us going again, but they would not really fix all the issues.

I agree with you. To even begin fix things will require some very painful solutions, and no politician is willing to say those things publicly, and even less so in an election year.

Yeah, I know. People don't want to hear the truth, or at least not everyone wants to hear it....and politicians want to win, so they will say whatever it takes to get themselves elected or re-elected.

Hey man I'm just being honest. First, he is the current President...he's doing his job being President. Congress on the other hand isn't, look at the approval ratings. There are many things I disagree with that he has done, I disagree with the whole two party system we have that keeps the nation divided.

Sometime's it takes the truth for someone to appear to be better. It's constructive criticism not being a rude ass. I'm not claiming I know it all.

Okay I will take back the rude ass know it all label. But really, why did you feel the need to point out his spelling? It did not make him appear to be better, but it did make you appear to be worst. That is the whole problem now a days with people. We are to damn judgmental and I am no better than you about that I don't guess.
