I don't know. I mean, what's the point? We have something going that the people in this country like and if people really want to ruin it well then they have some serious issues. I mean seriously, its different now. There are these cool things developed around the world in the past 100 years called morals. If anything wouldn't it be disputes between political parties?
Most of today's Southerners agree with Northerners on the issues that divided them in the 19th century, most notably states' rights; so it's unlikely they'll try to secede again on those grounds. Now, it's a question of whether they're as motivated to take action on today's issues as they were ~150 years ago. That question only Southerners themselves and people who have connections with them can answer.
A few years back a university did a computer reenactment of the civel war and reported that if it happened today it would last about two weeks and the south would easily win.The reason were because the because more companies have moved south and they have all the materials the north would need.I think southeren people are just to smart to go there again .They live what I think are well balanced lives and seam to enjoy life better so why screw up a good thing
There is no deep economical/sociological divide anymore. That and it was a war of principle like the revolution. Back in those days people fought and died for their principles. Nowadays american principles are put into constant question.
Depends on what you mean by 'Rise Again'. Slavery is forever dead. But it would be really nice if States regained the power they originally had. Lincoln gave the Federal Govt far too much power, providing a permanent solution to a temporary problem. In doing so he destroyed the original Republic as designed by the Founding Fathers. The South NEEDS to Rise Again, and the North should cheer them on if they value their OWN sovereignty.
I think the feeling that the South is somehow deficient and needs to "rise" is a mistaken assumption generally held by arrogant people residing in the Northeast. If you are really asking will the Rebel cause ever be reestablished, of course not. That's why we are all governed by the same Constitution.
My guess is that by the end of the century the USA will have dissolved into a bunch of different countries. How soon that will happen and along what lines I have no idea.
The North had the industrial infrastructures that the South lacked and more man power. Of course the quality of the southern soldiers was superior, but I don't think it was just the blockade. Sometimes the numbers defeat the will.
