Yes, he won the majority and will be the candidate soon.
    prosperhappily
There is still an off chance of someone else could swoop in and take it. But, it's not likely.

more than anything else it showed the seeds of a Mitt-Rick ticket against Obama and his gang!

Romney didn't clinch the nomination on Super Tuesday, but there's little doubt he will be the nominee.

It depends on whether the Republicans stick to their idiology or if they would prefer a fighting chance at beating Obama.

No I have not voted yet and my state of Texas has a good number of delegates. Anything can happen, Remember Hillary thought she had it in the bag, until the DNC slipped Obama in the race,

There is a very long ways to go before their convention. Just one foot in mouth disease incident or another couple of flip/flops and he may not take all the delegates. IF NOT it will be a brokered convention and the ONLY winners will be the American Public with President Obama winning in November.

You people who rant about the cost of gas just simply do not understand that the price of gas is NOT controlled by the President, congress or the oil companies. Now mind you I don't like the oil companies anymore than the next guy, but it is the oil brokers/speculators that are driving the price of fuel. AND the idea that we can afford to ship oil out of the country. We are producing more oil and exporting more gasoline than we have anytime in the previous 35 years. We are using 20% less fuel than we were 6 years ago. Yet the price keeps going up. Why? the oil broker/specualtors.

And who is gleefully watching the oil go out of the country? Hmmmmm? If he can drive the price up, why can't the POTUS bring it down? You know, sit the oil companies down and tell them. You know, just like Obama did when he went against the Constitution and bombed Lybia or gave big bucks to auto companies. Haven't you heard, Messiah Obama can do anything HE wants. I forgot. HE WANTS the price to go up to support his cronies and their green power. Of course, he wants the greedy, wastrel Americans to be taught a lesson too. What you don't understand is that there are things that can be done by the POTUS. Blowing off the Canadians and not allowing the Keystone pipeline, or drilling ... nah, he isn't do anything to help prices go up.

The hearing which Faux News was misquoting as usual, was talking about the falling prices of NATURAL GAS. If it continues to drop then the net result will be the shutdown of natural gas fields and further discovery.

As for the Keystone Pipeline, There are two very good reasons for no approving it. One its planned route is through pristine fields which grow our nations' food supply. Seconds NOT ONE DROP OF THE OIL WILL BE REFINED FOR USE IN THE USA. It will 100% BE SHIPPED OUT OF THE USA FOR FOREIGN COUNTRY USE.

You really should look into thing befor you continue to flap your jaws.

Yeah and my butt is pristine too, but I wear underwear to protect it. Go save a spotted owl. Allllll the food supply is right under the pipeline. You overstate and fudge to push your green agenda too. Life is a risk and if you're too chicken to live it, what are you hanging around for? YEAH, IT'S GOING OVERSEAS BUT LET'S NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT JOBS, THE LENGTH OF THE PIPELINE, REFINING, NAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH, don't do THAT. Use a useless simplistic answer. You should get your nose out of your green butt and look at all the other aspects of what you;re talking about instead of focusing on PART of the story. So FLAP THAT Jack ...

Presidents get a lot of blame, and a lot of credit, for stuff they're not responsible for. It goes with the job.

Romney is the front runner, but will he finish the race with a majority?

After 'Super Tuesday,' Romney has only 44 more than a majority of delegates. That's only one state's worth. Anything could happen.

I think he's ahead by more than 47 -- unless I'm missing something.

44 or 47 is still about one state's worth.

Fair enough. But, according to the link I gave, Romney has a hell of a lot more than that -- relative to his competitors. In fact, I think I read that what you said is what his minions are pushing -- that there are only a few winner-takes-all states left, meaning that, given Romney's position and a state's value, his competitors are wasting their time.

Again -- I might be missing something.

He will come out of this process as the nominee but just not yet. How close Ohio was despite how much he outspent Santorum by only shows his failure to wrap this process up.

Let's not forget all the cross-over Democrats who were called to vote for Santorum. Obama is salivating to run against him and appears to fear Romney's ability to draw the independents.

Romney has this pretty locked up after super Tuesday. Newt with a strong showing in his home state will continue his southern strategy. Winning TX by 50% is Santorum's only chance to compete with Romney getting all the TX delegates. The remaining winner takes all states should go to Romney with the largest bump from California. This race is over and it will be president Obama against Romney. Romney probably won't get the 1144 delegates to win outright but an over 2-1 delegate advantage over Santorum makes the convention pick clear.
