Even as Chick-fil-A sets sales records thanks to supporters of
traditional marriage flooding into stores to support its Christian
values, one conservative politican is having nothing to do with the
controversy.

And he's the one running for president.

On Friday, Mitt Romney told reporters he wasn't going to talk about the
controversy that has captivated the country, prompting many notable
conservatives to take a stand on the restaurant chain's commitment to
traditional marriage and conservative values.

It was a deliberate media misdirect designed to signal popular approval for a liberal cause and it backfired. But Romney doesn't need to address side issues that would get off track. He needs to address the failed Obama economy first, last and always.

Why would Mitt Romney do a free commercial for Chick-Fil-A? Imagine the uproar if this ad appeared on your TV:

"Hi, I'm Barack Obama, and when I'm not on the campaign trail, I'm cruising around in my Chevrolet Silverado, the truck for the American working man, at a dealer near you!"

This is one of those cases where you are far better off not committing if you are a political figure and Romney is very much that. By backing the so called traditional marriage he automatically eliminates the gay community. From his perspective a vote is still a vote even if you do not agree with their lifestyle. I personally hope it does matter but I doubt it.

The gay community makes up 1% of the population. Marriage amendments have won in 31 out of 31 states with 52 - 85% of the vote. California even voted for traditional marriage. With Obama coming out in favor of homosexual marriage, Romney wasted a big opportunity.

I think it was a smart move. Also Chick-fil-A did a good job on it's own.
Now after he “WINS” the election, and more and more people go back to work and the economy improves we can all go back to eating out again. Let’s get AMERICA BACK and BACK ON TOP AGAIN.

I think that the presidential candidates should stick to real issues like unemployment, the deficit, medicaire and medicaid reform, and politics abroad. Besides, he is Mormon and some Mormons take several wives and that to me is not considered traditional and so if he spoke in favor of Chick-fil-A's president's beliefs, it would make him go against part of his own religion and that wouldn't be a wise thing for him to do, but then again, it didn't stop BO.

Not really, and if he is smart he will pay as little attention as possible to all these idot left wing smoke and mirror distractions and stick to the stupid Obama economy and record that the left is so desperate to keep everyone from focusing on.

Certainly. Why risk ticking off 1% of the population who won't vote for him anyway just to please 60 - 80 % of the population who support traditional marriage?

Several wise politicians in our area visited Chick-fil-A to meet and greet potential voters as well as eat a chicken sandwich.
