Annoys me to no end, and all it does is make us not want to agree with the other side because we think they're always wrong.

Since the very beginning politicians and orators have been heckled. Nothing new. You should go to Speakers Corner in London to see how real heckling is done. They don't insult and everyone is free to express themselves -- good golly -- even communists.

    But, at this point,

it's also kinda nice as well ~

A persons' wit, and sense of humor

is crucial for the public to see in a leader ;0 )

As long as it doesn't extend into disrespect to our country,

or proud and loyal citizens, and integrity thereof, I say, let 'er rip !

I generally am a left leaning "liberal" (In Australia, the liberal party is actually the conservative party. I know, it's weird); though I generally feel neither side is correct and both sides have positives and negatives.

As such, any heckler drives me insane. I want to hear what the politician is actually saying. I might agree or I might not, but I want to actually hear it to determine that.

Civil discourse. Shouting down a speaker, air horns to drown them out, heckling, all of these are spiteful, childish and wrong. Wait like a civilized person for the question and answer period, if one if offered. If it is not, the purpose of the event is for the speaker to be heard by everyone.

I think you should have a third choice for comments-- if the heckles make.a point about policy or intentions[economic, military,or political] they are important but if personal slurs they aer not

Comments are made no big deal, but one should know when enough is enough. I do find it amusing when people allow themselves to get so upset by comments made oppose their own thoughts. Everyone could afford to lighten up, myself included.

Actually a few. I'd say that the ad that falsely claims Romney killed Joe Soptics wife. The Washington Post gave it 4 Pinochios. The Obama camp said they knew nothing about it. However Soptic has ties to the DNC and it is said that there is evidence he was given a pension to make the ad. Falsely accusing someone of being a killer is way over the top.

I truly think that hecklers need to be escorted from venues - If they wish to demonstrate, do it outside of a gathering, scream and shout, have signs and babble non-stop. But inside a venue, let the speakers or entertainers alone - the audience came to hear them

Yes, I do think they are childish BECAUSE they are non-productive. I think standing up and demanding to be heard is adult-like. I think indicting pols for their crimes is adult-like. I think the MOST childish thing I have ever seen politicians do is to whine about voters, as though they are on equal footing.

politicians have always been incrediably over paid school yard children wasting time fighting among them selves with words of contempt instead of banding together and actually working toward making resolutions which make life liveable.

Proverbs 6:6-13 talks a lot a bout these people.

Nothing is gained from shouting someone down. The most effective interruption is laughter at inappropriate places. I watched a stump speech once and couldn't help myself, I ended up leaving because I couldn't contain my laughter.
