Because many of that 47% are senior citizens on a fixed income and they do vote. At least he wasn't flying the Cayman flag this time during this fundraiser.

Mitt Romney told a group of donors in a secretly taped video that 47% of Americans will vote for President Obama because they are "dependent upon government" and "believe that they are victims."
Translation: President Obama has bought 47% of the vote in the upcoming election and while I would like receive some of those votes I’m not willing to have the other 53% of the American people pay the price it would take for me to get those votes.

No, and Mitt Romney needs to stand by what he said and not make excuses. If the points he was making are true then say they are. We have listened to three plus years of excuses.

The truth hurts, but it's still truth.

Anyway, if obama can't find a fire extinguisher for the mid-east, people aren't going to give two-cent s for Romney's little truth.

those that like him will continue to vote for him, same for the other side, and the thinking independents that will decide this election will look at the policies and decide which is better for the country.

The 47% that he is talking about, Those who don't pay taxes come from "Red States." Those who are poor asses who don't work, the old and on medicare and the working poor who don't make enough to pay taxes who are his devoted supporters. They are so dumb they don't even know he is talking about them.

Nothing in that snipit was not true. 47% of this nation is a net taker, they will not be swayed by someone who isn't offering them more handouts.

How could it not hurt him? Its a confirmation of what some people, perhaps wrongly to this point, assumed about him. Now, their instincts are confirmed. What dumb stuff to say.

He spoke the truth, deal with it. I much prefer people to speak the truth, whether or not I agree....the truth is refreshing. I'm tired of constant and blatant lying.

truth and politics rarely intersect, besides if everyone knows it why say it? the idea is to get elected for the greater good, not look like the last fool out the door.

Why would calling 1/2 the country victims, who have an entitlement mentality, and won't take responsibility for their lives, damage his campaign? I think everyone already knew of his disdain for the lazy a-holes who aren't part of the 1%.
