It will not change anything, banning it will not make anyone drink/eat healthier. It's all about personal choice, if I want to drink 60oz of soda I should be able to do that.

.............All those Big Gulp size sugar drinks has got to be regulated, over a longer time, sugary soft drinks can lead to diabetes, tooth decay, and other medical body disorders, if a person wants to hydrate, let Them do so with something healthier like flavored waters like G2 and Propel, just to name a few, each has several choice and satisfying flavors.............I think the legislation is fine and just.........

Hi Jerry. My statement in way is meant to be disrespectful of you. I just want to clear up some things you brought up. Saying drinking sugary drinks can lead to diabetes needs a better explanation. Drinking sugar and eating sugar doesn't give you diabetes. Some people out there think that sugar gives you "sugar diabetes" ! SUGAR does NOT give you diabetes! The weight gain from not eating healthy is what "may" cause diabetes! Just like anything else, you can eat what you like..., including sugar,...in MODERATION...! I know what causes diabetes because I have diabetes. And yes, I can have actual sugar if I compensate my carb count to include it in my meal. Tooth decay is caused by not brushing your teeth after having things like candy, soda and even steak and potatoes! But I agree with you Jerry about hydration! Soda, flavored ice teas etc, are not a good source of hydration. Water is the best source of hydration! If you don't like the taste, then by all means, like Jerry said, get a flavored 0 calorie water, they're delicious and much better for you! Thank you Jerry for letting me get something off my chest, on your "dime"! I hope you don't mind! :D

............Thank you, for educating me on Your post above, You being a diabetic, I'm a type 2 diabetic, and I'm not yet on insulin, I have been on Actos, but my diabetes according to my regular doctor feels I'm doing well enough that He cancelled the Actos, and has increased the dosage on my Glyburide/Metformin 5mg/500mg dosage. So I'm drinking G2 and Propel for hydration but You do mention things in Your post, that will indeed be helpful on my maintenance of this pain in the neck, disease that it is..........I hope to hear from You often........if You have additional info for me, I have a Google g-mail address that is on my Soda Head profile, by all means please use it to contact me, I believe my diabetes is pretty much under control, but I do need to lose some belly fat, my ideal weight is 165 pounds, I'm 5 foot 11 inches, and right now, I weigh, 200 pounds, I do exercise, but with this added weight, it slows me down considerable, I would use a stationary bicycle, but as part of my physical disability from an on the job injury, that finally forced me to fully retire, as to the bicycle, I cannot torque on the left peddle because I have a left calf tear, that causes more than discomfort, I cannot use an incline treadmill for the same reason........keep me posted, thank you, hermit57...........

It is a stupid law, they need to enforce the beneficial ones for a change. If you want more than 16 oz of pop, buy 2 of them. What are they going to do? Arrest you?
