You!

I have had issues with this nurse time and time again. I'm back in hospital having another round of treatment and once again she is assigned to me.

She makes snarky comments about me being homosexual and how her faith is against it.

Should i report her for this?

As a nurse, it is her role to treat everyone 100% equally. If a rapist needed treatment she would be obliged to treat him the same way as everyone else. No matter what. Report her.

I wouldn't deal with it at all. She probably does this to others as well, who knows how many people you'd be doing a favor for.

I would, and I would ask for another nurse. There is nothing worse than getting treatment from someone who doesn't respect you.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

With very few exceptions, adoption and marriage, LGBT rights have been upheld across the board. That would include being harassed by a nurse while in the hospital.

Report the nurse by demanding of the head nurse on duty to speak with the senior most administrator on the property. If she refuses give her one more chance. If they refuse to talk with you, then contact the http://www.communitylaw.org.nz/ and discuss the problem with them.

Your first step is to tell this nurse what you perceive is her attitude toward you.
Your a big boy, tell her that it is inappropriate and you prefer that she not discuss, hers or your, sexual orientation or religion with you.
If she persists, ask the supervisor for another nurse and state your reasons.

Faith and sexual orientation are personal issues and have no place in the work place.
Usually nurses are much too busy to engage in subjects not related to RX.

I am curious if this is a subject initiated by the patient and his getting an honest reply that he objected to.

On the other hand most nurses would not have engaged in either subject with their patient!
It reeks of unprofessionalism. But "me thinks" this is more perception than fact! IMHO

She should be reported. You can bet you are not the only person she is treating this way. Her job is to treat you and to do so with compassion and kindness.
Dan, I'm sorry to hear you are in the hospital and I'm very sorry you are being treated this way.
I care about what is happening to you.

She should be reported. She is not using a professional bedside manner, and it's unprofessional to make the patient uncomfortable about their non-life threatening life choices. Last time I checked being a homosexual was not life threatening.

Most definitely...her job is to treat the patient before her, not pass judgment on them. Her Supervisors should be made aware of her comments. She's operating outside her scope of work.

Without hesitation, you are there to heal, not listen to someones condescending hate speech. Ask her where you can get a grievance form, if she questions you, tell her flat out why you want it. I'll bet from then on out things will be waaay different.

You have a duty to report her. She may have a more serious head problem than you suspect. That's a poor mix with somebody responsible for handing out pills.

I think you should be tolerant and remind her of Jesus's love for her and you alike. Don't become bigoted against bigots, Christians are taught to love, she has found the church, but not Christ's teachings.

That's not a judgement. You are confused. The nurse was judging; that's not part of her job. She should be reported so that she can be dealt with and not disrespect any other patients. She will probably be counseled and warned. If she continues to do this, she will have to find a job that allows her do whatever she pleases.

I picked no because I don't know for certain. Remind her that her job is a nurse which is bit like her faith, to help others. May be she should look at herself for being a bigot about her patients sexuality, which has got nothing to do with her. If you think she is treating you differently to other patients or giving you less of a service than others then you should report her.
