everything Romney said at VMI were things that Obama has already accomplished. Romney keeps saying he is going to do this and that, but he never gives details on how or when. Romney is a disgusting phoney who wants to send your children into another war, that is a for sure. I cannot believe so many people will let themselves be bamboozled. Romney thinks he is talking to idiots and anyone who is for him has proved him right. The wool is being pulled over your eyes. This is real life, not a movie that needs a guy that looks like he came from central casting in the white house. This is part of the problem, the idiots do not like a black man in their white house.

It wasn't a particularly memorable speech in terms of great lines we'll remember for years to come, but it did serve its purpose. Romney had to show he is a competent alternative to President Obama. That's what he did. At the same time, the president's speech merely asked for more time to finish a job he said he could do in 3 years. Whether that was wishful thinking or not, he made a lot of promises he didn't keep. His speech was all about forgive and forget, but that's not exactly an inspiring message. Mitt Romney gave a speech that helps him to move his campaign forward, so I'd say he succeeded.

Actually, no one hates Obama. Its like government, most people agree that government and laws to protect the weak from the powerful are needed, and most will say the government isn't the problem, its the people in the government that creates a problem. Thus, they don't hate the government, or the people in it, they just want people that understand what government really is, and Obama and his crowd just does not have a clue, and neither does most of his followers.

Has anyone noticed that all of Romney's friends are also billionaires? He could probably bring down the deficit with the taxes he absconded with to off shore accounts. He and his CRONIES are only concerned with protecting their wealth and their ability to continue their enormous earnings and avoiding taxes. But the repubs are fools.

You are so correct! If you listened to Bill Clinton's speech a the DNC, he clarified for us how the Republican ticket will hugely multiply the national debt with their planned tax cuts for the super-rich and planned increases on spending in areas we need it least.

Of course Clinton put the Dem spin on Romney/Ryan ticket. He could care less about BHO he is already campaigning for Hillary in 2016 so he must play nice, nice with the Dem party. The Rep ticket is planning a restructure of the tax code - do away with entitlements this is something BHO could have done and accomplished if he cared enough to do something for Americans. BHO says (with a streight face) there will be no new taxes on the middle class - give me a break if any of you believe that you are crazy just go to the pump to fill your tank or better yet just go food shopping. You honestly believe these aren't tax increases??? And the plans to add more taxes just get worse. Think people BHO has done nothing of value as president except to take the USA to a more communist/socialist direction and if you know anything about history and the world THEY DO NOT WORK!!!!

I don't think you are informed of the facts. Clinton didn't use "spin" in his speech as you call it. He used facts and plain arithmetic. He sincerely supports Obama, regardless of his intentions in 2016. There is no clause to prevent him from sincerely supporting both Obama and his wife; two separate elections separated by four years.
The restructure of the tax code by Romney you refer to will average $2,000 more in federal taxes paid by each middle class family, while slashing taxes for multi-millionaires. The Republican ticket, if elected, will effectively starve the middle class to fatten the wealthy. When you talk about more taxes paid when you are shopping you confuse your local state taxes with federal taxes. Presidents do not decide state tax rates! That is a job for state governments. I've lived in several different states; some taxed food and clothing, others didn't, and those that did tax them, taxed at very different rates. Those taxes are not decided by the president. Please get your facts straight!

Also, Obama is neither communist nor socialist. You are just spouting conservative right-wing propaganda that you've been spoon-fed, without bothering to know the facts.

I think the whole convention was a disastrous, classless joke, especially Clint Eastwoods talk to an empty chair. Ann and Mitt Romney act like they are the royals addressing the steerage. Mitt was stiff, phoney and awkward and his wifey poo looked like the perfect stepford wife, condascending to the female population. Who are they kidding?

Yes, I believe that Romney can turn this country around. The telling of a true leader is a leader who surrounds himself with the brightest strongest individuals and Romney selected Paul Ryan. Some leaders would be afraid that having such a strong running mate might upstage them and Ryan has but that is okay, because we end up with a stronger presidency because Romney doesn't let ego get in the way. He picks the best man / woman for the job. This is just Romney's first pick can you imagine how great his cabinet is going to be. I am energized by the republican party after watching the convention and I am a democrat. I am disappointed in the democratic party that the candidate they are selecting for us is a proven felon, is walking around using stolen identity. Is an pro Sharia Law anti Christian, anti Jew and anti gay individual that pretends to be something he is not.the truth will be known soon and i hope all those that conspired and assisted him to get in office, like Debra Wasserman Shultz are punish for their crimes.

Nothing about Afghanistan? Nothing that discussed any plans for education, economy, jobs, or debt? Talking about Russia as our major political concern? I thought even less of both Romney and Ryan after hearing them speak. They were a big zero in my opinion. The convention did nothing to even change my mind at all. In fact it solidified my choice.
