I've been around a very long time. FDR was president when I was born. To this day I never had reason or cause to fire a gun in anger. (I'm a U. S. Navy peace time veteran.) People with guns kill people more than people with fists, knives or baseball bats kill people. Hell, we already have a well armed militia. Unless you are planning on overthrowing the government, why would you need assault weapons?

why? just a few weeks ago a women with two kids had a home invasion and she shot the attacker 5 times, he was able to leave and drive away. What if there had been 2,3 or 4 of them? She'd be dead. In my area in the last six months of last year there were a dozen home invasions within an hours drive of me, and though remote, it could happen. (by the way in several of them the homeowners were killed) And if there are multiple attackers they could require 5 or 6 shots each plus you figure you miss a few, you need a 30 round clip for that.

Also, I don't believe that the people in the government should be allowed better protection than regular people are allowed to have. And I also believe that under Obama's policies of printing money and running up the debt we are likely to have a massive collapse that will make the last one look fun. And given that Obama Voters burned LA some 20 years ago, given any reason they will be out doing it again, and I am ready for any outcome, that is my right to be so prepared.

Moreover, it is no ones business how I choose to be ready to defend my family and property, and I believe anyone who is not prepared as I am is a fool.
