Question US

Do you think America is ready for a states rights revolution?

Matt Wayne October 30, 2009 23:33:52

For those that know their history, the first civil war was about states rights not abolition. The democrats have had their revolution. Dead fish Emanuel, Meyer Lansky Axelrod and the most cowardly vermin of them all Barack Hussein Obama stabbed Americans in the back. They won an illegal cowardly election with Acorn registering 200 votes per individual. They've had their revolution, now it's time for the conservatives to have theirs. Fourteen states are considering secession. Only eleven states seceded during the first war between the states. This time the states considering this action are scattered throught the US. My money is on the good ole boys in the southeast, southwest, middle America and some of the western states. They won't have to sneak up and stab the liberals in the back, they will face these yellow-bellied vermin down. Canada will be full of these cowardly liberals.
You!

So, you're saying ARMED INSURRECTION is the best way to deal with a government you disagree with? The Founders f the America specifically made sure that it WOULD NOT HAVE TO COME TO THIS. They ensured that elections could be held to oust an unjust government so that it would not be necessary for violence.

By the way, ACORN did not steal the election, there were just a bunch of lazy GOPers who decided to stay home. Blame them if you want to blame someone for Obama's victory.

I've read the post and must say I can't believe how many people are history ignorant. Try reading some history books and you will see that the Civil War had very little to do with slavery.

On August 19, 1862, Horace Greeley, the influential editor of the New York Tribune, published an open letter ("The Prayer of Twenty Millions") calling on Lincoln to free the slaves as a way of weakening the Confederacy. In response to Greeley's editorial, Lincoln stated that his main purpose was to preserve the Union, and, to achieve that goal, he was prepared to free none, some, or all of the slaves, depending on the circumstances.

For those you who recall the actual historical results of the Civil War, the secessionist movement cost the people who supported it everything they had. The Union became stronger than ever and all of that resulted from the leadership of the first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln. This poster is among the most confused of all the sadly very confused and highly racist right wing nut cases who hang out on SH.

What say we not start at the state level and just get right to the top instead. ALL POLITICIANS NEED TO GO!! There is no more representation of, for or by the people anymore. Government is the BIGGEST corporation that people are tired of today. Do away with all the cronyism and phillandering going on with them. Send the message this election day and vote for no incumbants. New meat is needed that can stand up for itself for a change. Obammy was calling for CHANGE on his political run last year and I think it will be arriving sometime in the next few years AGAINST what his wishes are. Keep pushing until we all push you back. Then you can wonder, "Wot happened?" The "spiral" has started.

    ACORN:
Fact: ACORN flagged incomplete, problem, or suspicious cards when they turn them in, but these warnings are often ignored by election officials. Often these same officials then come back weeks or months later and accuse them of deliberately turning in phony cards.

Fact: Voter fraud by individuals is extremely rare, and incredibly difficult. There has never been a single proven case of anyone, anywhere, casting an illegal vote as a result of a phony voter registration. Even if someone wanted to influence the election this way, it would not work.

And since no one has ever been proven to successfully cast an illegal vote as a result of phony voter registration, the rabid hysteria by the right wing over this issue can only mean one thing - cover for their own crimes to steal this election.

We all know the drill - cry registration fraud while systematically purging millions of voters from the voter rolls, throwing out votes in African American areas, running campaigns to suppress voter turnout through various deceptive and illegal means.

    Obam's role in ACORN:

Discredited Republican voter-suppression guru Ken Blackwell has attacked Barack Obama with naked lies about his supposed connection to ACORN.

    • Fact: Barack was never an ACORN community organizer.
    • Fact: ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee.
    • Fact: ACORN was not part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992.

In his capacity as an attorney, Barack represented ACORN in a successful lawsuit alongside the U.S. Department of Justice against the state of Illinois to force state compliance with a federal voting access law. For his work helping enforce the law, called “Motor Voter,” Barack received the IVI-IPO Legal Eagle Award in 1995.

He sued to get on the ballot AND be put LAST in the listing of candidates. Last I heard anything about it he was still having legal problems. And never made it on the ballot.

I noticed you still have the statement, "I oppose affirmative action, the NAACP, The NBA." Really, people. The NBA.
" ... ACORN registered 200 votes per individual ... "? How is it you know this, but, no one else does?

My 'claims' are criticism of his statements and claims. He clearly actually quotes Hitler and hates the NBA. Thats not really debatable. Everyone having the right to their say is neccessary. But, be careful. People like Matt would over throw the government. Really. At least that is my opinion.

Do you even have a clue as you suggest? If this "revolution" happened it would be fought street by street, not state by state. And to what end? If the Conservative Republican's start a revolution, some other nation could take advantage of the situation and start claiming sections of the disUnited States of America. Then what?

I know of 4 states off the top of my head that have sizable secession movements including Hawaii. The others are Alaska, Texas and Vermont. The soveignty movement is gaining momentum in a number of states as they feel rightfully that the Feds have stomped the X admendment into the ground. Most Americans want to live without government interference and if the Feds keep it up and increase the garbage I can readily see a revolt taking place where a number of states leaving saying we aren't going to pay for this madness.

The American Civil War brought great bloodshed and loss of life to this nation. The south lost, and a new revolution that you seem to have a blood thirst for will achieve nothing but great bloodshed and loss of life for a hopeless and fanatical cause. The greatest lesson from the American Civil war is the fact that war was greatly anticipated on both sides, and glamorized. The result was heartbreaking devastation to an entire generation. Both sides vowed to never allow it to happen again.

It would be easy to kill people that you demonize as being yellow bellied vermin- but in fact they are hardworking, patriotic. family loving fellow American citizens. To wish destruction of this nation is sickening. Stop having a hissy fit that your candidate lost the election. Many in this nation peacefully had to accept George W. even though they knew that he lost the election in 2000. Grow up.

I downraved you for hateful content.

As a Voluntaryist, I believe that every individual has a fundamental right to choose whatever form of government - including no government or self-government - he or she wants to live under. The ideas of states' rights, nullification, and secession, contrary to popular belief, are not the exclusive domain of the political right, nor of racial separatists.

As a matter of fact, my hero, the 19th century Abolitionist attorney Lysander Spooner, detested the existence of slavery in the Antebellum South, but saw no ethical justification for the Civil War, since he viewed personal or group secession as an inherent right of each individual. And, given the overwhelming successes that state nullification had on overturning the monstrously unethical (not to mention Unconstitutional) Fugitive Slave Laws, it surprises me a great deal that people still have a tendency to view States' Rights supporters as racists.

If you really think about it, there is no reason for any of the states to go the rout of secession, I believe that because of an over intruding and over baring federal government the best rout to be taken by the individual states would be to repeal the 16 amendments, which was the income tax, and end up pulling the plug so-to-speak on the federal government. Without our tax dollars the federal government has nothing to threaten or to hold the states in check. Most people already know that the 16th amendment was never fully ratified or agreed upon by all of the states and that the income tax is in reality illegal, as long as the courts are going to consider this argument a political argument and won't allow it into the records repealing the 16th amendment would be the best course of remedy. As long as the federal government thinks it can scare the states by threatening of withholding those precious federal tax dollars they will. If the 16th amendment was repealed, the federal government would be starved out of existence, and would therefore again be at the mercy of the states for their subsistence. The united States don't have to separate by seceding, we just have to regain control over the federal government.
