An earthquake is just a wave that travels through the ground. Nothing in the definition specifies how powerful a wave has to be to be considered an earthquake. It could be powerful enough to push Earth into Mars's orbit in one day and perhaps destroy the human race, or it could be so ridiculously tiny that we couldn't feel it under our feet. If we want to get technical, every time you step in a patch of dirt, you're actually creating a very tiny earthquake right underneath you, with your feet as the epicenter. These ridiculously tiny earthquakes don't cause much tangible destruction, but they're earthquakes nonetheless.

Not to mention the fact that the human race knows QUITE well how to make ridiculously powerful nuclear arms, as others have mentioned here on this question.

Reason: because atomic bombs (not even unused hydrogen bombs) has caused a lot more destructive damage than an earthquake.
However, the thing to fear about earthquake weapon hypothesis: "natural destruction". Is it real or is it not?

It's been happening. Fracking has been used for years and now we are actually seeing the effects. Earthquakes, polluting the drinking water. But, what do the they care? As long as these corporate CEO's are making their money, other people's lives are meaningless to them.

Certain forms of mining can cause or trigger earthquakes, and while I'm skeptical about whether they have the technology to fully cause one, I believe that there is certainly technology that can trigger them. Its sort of like how they have weather manipulation technology, and many technologies that are top secret. You'll be lucky to know of exactly how advanced this government truly is.

The following statement was made more than 25 years ago in a book which Brzezinski wrote while a professor at Columbia University:

"Political strategists are tempted to exploit research on the brain and human behavior. Geophysicist Gordon J. F. MacDonald specialist in problems of warfare says accurately timed, artificially excited electronic strokes 'could lead to a pattern of oscillations that produce relatively high power levels over certain regions of the Earth. . . . In this way, one could develop a system that would seriously impair the brain performance of very large populations in selected regions over an extended period. . . .' No matter how deeply disturbing the thought of using the environment to manipulate behavior for national advantages, to some the technology permitting such use will very probably develop within the next few decades." .......looks like its working just fine

Press releases and other information from the military on HAARP continually downplay what it could do. Publicity documents insist that the HAARP project is no different from other ionospheric heaters operating safely throughout the world in places such as Arecibo, Puerto Rico; Tromsø, Norway; and the former Soviet Union. if you think about this, if all were turned on at the same time..what would happen to earth..not only earthquakes but volcano's will erupt everywhere..your end in the bible by fire..and the reason for the georgia guidestones..but i'm just crazy..heck i read about hundreds of ooparts on earth, that tell a much different story of the history of mankind..silly homo sapien, tricks are for kids.

HAARP, CAN ALSO CHANGE THE FREQUENCY OF YOUR BRAIN..The earthquake on 12th May 2008 at the Eastern Sichuan region in China is an earthquake that has been suspected to have been caused by HAARP. A 1.8Hz signal that oscillates on and off can be seen starting 3 weeks earlier on the 23rd April and continues for some months at varying strengths. During this time, other earthquakes logged by USGS [12] at a magnitude greater than 6.0 occurred at Greece, Japan, Tonga, India, South Sandwich Islands and Sea of Okhotsk. One of the reasons why HAARP was suspected with the Sichuan earthquake is due to the presence and photographs of earthquake lights [13] in the hour before the main earthquake. The presence of this unusual phenomena does indicate a strong relationship between the atmosphere and earthquake events.

One of the reasons why HAARP was suspected with the Sichuan earthquake is due to the presence and photographs of earthquake lights [13] in the hour before the main earthquake. The presence of this unusual phenomena does indicate a strong relationship between the atmosphere and earthquake events.

The January 12th 2010 Haiti earthquake is one event that has recieved a lot of attention in relation to HAARP with the President of Haiti, Hugo Chavez [14] blaming America for the earthquakes. An article by Brewin [15] also describes how America was able to quickly respond to the event with the Defense Information Systems Agency conducting tests nearby in Miami. This allowed for fast coordination between hundreds of different government and non government organisations to aid in the clean up. For two days prior to the main earthquake there was a constant signal at 2.2Hz with the main 7.0 Magnitude hitting 4 hours after the signal stopped.

On 27th February 2010 a large earthquake struck just off the coast of Chile. With HAARP already creating headlines in relation to earthquakes, suspicions where quick to surface and look for a cause and meaning to this earthquake. With the magnetosphere readings from Alaska there is a faint signal at 2.8Hz in the three days leading up to the earthquake. When comparing this to the other graphs the signal weakness indicates that source of this signal is a lot further away, but still able to be picked up as the energies travel throughout the magnetosphere.

In the days leading up to the Japan March 11th 2011 earthquakes, a fairly constant signal at around 2.5Hz was being produced with the first major earthquake at a magnitude 7.2 occurring after about 5 hours. About 1 day later, a very strong signal below 0.5Hz was added and the storminess dramatically increased. After another day of both these frequencies the big magnitude 9.0 quake hit. 4 hours later the 2.5Hz was stopped while the 0.5Hz signal continued for another day. Once all the signals stopped the geomagnetic storminess settled back down.

    Electromagnetic and Kinetic Energy
One important question in relation to the theory of HAARP causing earthquakes is, can electromagnetic radiation cause kinetic energy? Electromagnetic radiation is made of photons travelling at the speed of light. Photons are subatomic matter that have no mass and are released every time an electron reduces its orbit around an atom. When a photon combines with another atom it causes the electron to expand its orbit. The Bohr model of atomic structure [16] can help explain this relationship further. There are many different types of frequencies that these photons can vibrate at including gamma rays, visible light, microwaves, radio waves and ELF waves, all producing different effects on the environment. Some examples of how this transfer of energy takes place includes:

Nichols Radiometer [17]. This is a device that is used to measure the pressure of light, while this effect is very faint it does exist.

Microwave Oven [18]. This device heats food based on the princibes of dielectric heating and dipole rotation. As the electromagnetic wave moves up and down it causes the water molecules to oscillate as they become attracted and repulsed with the slope of the wave. This rotation movement causes friction and the food heats up.

Crystal Radio [19]. The very first radios did not use batteries, but got their power from the radio waves. This simple electrical device produced enough energy to power the movement of the small speakers in the headphones.

    How is it done?
One theory is based on directing the energy into the ground to heat it up, cause expansion and form an earthquake. A paper by Annan and Davis [20] on ground penetrating radar shows that since 1985, about 50 Watts of energy in the high frequency range of 10 - 1000 MHz can penetrate about 100 meters into the ground with enough strength to receive a signal back. All of the Earthquakes that have been suspected to have been induced by HAARP do have a shallow epicentre at around 5 - 30 km deep, as earthquakes can occur as deep as 650 km under the surface. There are a lot of problems including a loss of signal strength in sending a HF signal like a microwave into the ground to a depth around 10 - 20km.

Another possibility is with the creation of cavitations from the heating effects of HAARP on the ionosphere. The term cavitation is generally used in fluid mechanics to describe localised unstable boiling due to turbulent pressure flows that collapses with extremely high pressure and heat. Isham et al [21] performed experiments in 1999 to measure the natural cavitation effect while declaring "Langmuir cavitons have been artificially produced in the earth's ionosphere". This describes one process to transfer the electromagnetic into kinetic energy through sound waves. By directing these sound waves into the ground it can induce kinetic vibrations to cause an earthquakes. The effect is similar to standing next to a large bass speaker, except this speaker is about 10-20 km in size, 75 - 100km up in the air, powered by 3.6 Million Watts and pumping out extremely low frequencies below our range of hearing.

What is more likely is using ELF electromagnetic radiation to target the natural Schumann resonance vibrations of the ground deep below. ELF energy is much better at passing through water and earth than HF energy and is why it is used to communicate with submarines. By tuning the signal to a specific sub surface frequency it supplies a tiny bit of energy at the right time to gradually build up the targets natural resonance. The use of ground penetrating radar along with understanding the interactions between the earth and the magnetosphere would all help to tune into the required frequency and induce an earthquake.

What is most likely is the effect HAARP has on the magnetic fields of the Earth. By manipulating these magnetic fields in the outer atmosphere the repercussions will extend towards the Earth's core. By causing alterations in the natural magnetic forces within the Earth it introduce external stresses to the tectonic plates and induce earthquakes. The scientific field of seismicelectromagnitism is exploring this relationship and has identified links between the ionosphere and earthquakes. Lin [22] in a research article concluded "Principle Component Analysis was able to discriminate clear ionospheric total electron content anomalies in the months when all 18 earthquakes occurred, and such anomalies existed earlier than this 5-day statistical window.", with evidence of these anomalies found up to 11 days before an earthquake. Pulinets [23] in another paper summarises "The main and probably most important conclusion lies in the fact that the level of our present knowledge of ionospheric precursors of earthquake permits us to use them already in short term earthquake prediction".

The United States Congressional Record deals with the use of HAARP for penetrating the Earth with signals bounced off the ionosphere. These signals are used to look inside the planet to a depth of many kilometers in order to locate underground munitions, minerals and tunnels. For 1996, the U.S. Senate has set aside $15 million to develop this ability alone: Earth-penetration tomography.

The problem is that the frequency needed for Earth-penetrating radiations is within the frequency range most cited for disruption of human mental functions. It may also have profound effects on migration patterns of fish and wild animals which rely on an undisturbed energy field to find their routes.

As if electromagnetic pulses in the sky and mental disruption were not enough, Eastlund bragged that the superpowerful ionospheric heater could control weather.

Locate a loaded fault line and agitate it... I'm not sure how well we could manufacture one. We launch grenades at cliff sides to cause avalanches we know have built up, it's the same principal with causing an earthquake, we don't make it, we ''release'' it.

Begich: We're concerned about the effects on living organisms.

Another aspect is the project's potential to interfere with migration patterns of certain species. The effect on weather is another issue that concerns us. Also, HAARP has pulsed frequencies that trigger correlating frequencies in the human brain that can actually change the behavior of humans over a very broad geographic area! When radio frequencies are pulsed at the low end, say in the one to six Hertz range, people become very passive, relaxed and sluggish. On the opposite end, if the pulse rate was cranked up to between fifteen and thirty Hertz, people would be much more active, even agitated. Others would be really stressed, tense and intense with the people around them. Jose Delgado at Yale University demonstrated this using pulsed radio waves. He was able to move primates and humans from a state of lethargy, almost asleep, to the point of high agitation and anger, like turning on and off a light switch. That is a huge jump in technology. This is a big issue and should be a big issue!

The idea of influencing human behavior is so foundational to who we are and such a violation of who we are that, without proper public debate, I think we are making a huge mistake.
