A funeral home is stepping things up and opening a Starbucks store inside to boost business.

HAHAJK.COM reports:
The Robinson Funeral Home in Easley, S.C., has decided the loss of a loved one doesn’t stand a chance against the craving for a Grande Caramel Latte, and is opening a Starbucks in one wing of the home.

How offensive. If one can't make it as a funeral home, then get out of the business, but don't denigrate someone's final viewing like this! Last thing I'd do is make a purchase at that Starbucks (and suggest the same to all the other mourners) so the ownership/management of the funeral home loses more money than they were before. Jeesh... that's just disrespectful.

Well, people need their coffee, and Starbucks makes reasonable coffee. My dad once mentioned to me that for a lot of people funerals provide the opportunity for old friends to meet up again, especially if the person who died was old and had collected many friends over the ages. When I die, I hope my friends will sit down together, and talk about the good memories they have of us doing things together, if need be, over a cup of Starbucks.

The funeral homes I've been to already serve coffee, sodas, tea, donuts, candy bars, and have smoking areas. What difference does it make? Funerals are not for the benefit of the dead -- the dead are dead! Funerals are for the benefit and comfort of the ones left behind. If coffee is comforting, then cool. If not, don't buy it.

Why not? Most often, funerals and funeral visitations are joyful occasions for congenial visiting and well-wishing. I can see how a Starbucks in there could add to that.

Funerals are too boring. When a family member passes you have to be there for hours and hours. It is freezing in there and they rarely ever have coffee.

    Bring on the Starbucks.

When we buried my mom (cremated) on our property, we buried her with a pack of Pal Mal cigarettes and a can of Pepsi.
People don't have to buy the coffee.
When I die, I want people to enjoy my funeral. I want singing and dancing and laughing and if coffee helps, then so be it.
