Tell it to the Jews, the Poles, the French, the Filipinos, the Hungarians, the South Koreans, the Kuwaitis, and countless other conquered peoples..... Yes, it'd be nice if life offered nothing but simplistic solutions. Unfortunately, it doesn't.

I dislike the endless need to kill our brothers.......however I doubt if I could find 50 people who could go to a bar and be peaceful, much less whole countries.....

It's silly...killing and dying over land you don't even really own. Also, with religion...killing when your religion specifically says not to. What a mad world we live in...

While wars are horrific, they're unfortunately a necessary evil, history shows us that. What I do dislike is when politics try to police soldiers. If your going to go into a war, do it, get it over with and get our troops home. Stop dragging it out.

I've lost a few family members due to wars. And it would be better if there is none. That can be possible if we rewrite everyone's brains to make them hate war...

Girl, you are very naive, I want you to think about something. Imagine if you could reprogram minds, what makes you think the government or anyone doing that reprogramming would do it in the interest of the people? What would happen if they reprogrammed it so say, make everyone gay? Or make everyone submissive? Hell, they could reprogram everyone to WANT war.

So first your idea of reprogramming is unrealistic. Second, if you gave someone that power, they would work in their interest, not yours.

War is needed because others will always want control over wealth and the people, we go to war against those people, that's how you have the freedom and liberty you enjoy today.

There are better solutions. We can solve problems in a civilized way. Instead of killing each other to see who "wins." NO ONE wins in war.

Sadly no, we can't resolve problems in a civilized manner, that's why we go to war. Do you seriously think you can discuss with al Qaeda a "civilized" resolution of their problems with the west? Did you think you were the first to think of such an option?

You are wrong when you say "NO ONE wins in war.". It's been shown repeatedly in history where people liberated from murderers and tyrants that there are winners, and those are the freed peoples that now live without fear.

Some wars are good wars because they are necessary and they exceed the objective. The Iraq war was a good war.

As a former soldier, I understand that militaires are still nessiscary. If your neighbor believes you weak, he might invade you and take all your stuff. It's a long standing problem that's existed since the tribal days and is perpetuated by those who subscribe to ancient beliefs in one form or another.

You wanna get rid of war? Make sure it's not needed any more.

Few like war but there are a few exceptions. If others attack us in our own land then I guess we'd have to do what was necessary to save ourselves and defend our territory. And sometimes it could be useful to stand with other countries to try to free other nations under severe oppression.

We don't just invade on a whim, again, using 9/11 as an example, we have to be attacked first. You can sit at a table with al Quaeda is you wish, but don't turn your back, your head will be lopped off.

I think we have to agree to disagree on this issue. I have a Daughter
in Abu Dhabi teaching School to the children there. She is learning
their customs and the language. There was no reason to go to war
in Afghanistan or any other Country except that war is big Business.
This does not solve anything and the loss of lives and money spent
does not justify the action. The wars are profitable to the very greedy
and that is why they try to find excuses.

Perhaps we should agree to disagree, as you are wearing blinders. Gee, why isn't your sister teaching in Afghanistan? Without the war in Afghanistan millions of children, especially girls, wouldn't be in school. Without the war effort in Afghanistan women would still be stoned and beheaded in stadiums there.

Oddly I never see pacifists taking up the cause when it comes to the horrible abuses going on under tyrants and dictators, you just stand by when women are raped and murdered. And when you talk about profit grabbing, isn't that what your sister is doing? She's just looking for and getting big pay over doing what's right for those that need protection.
