Without knowing what ways they'd tighten control, I couldn't really be fair to the question. There are so many situations where ammunition's put to use that "tighter" control may not be a sensible move for many in controlling the few who misuse it.

Criminals will always get their ammo. Good citizens need to be able to protect themselves, our government isn't doing it.

The state of Montana had it right and acted, they knew what was coming. In a time when the Federal government is busily seeking ways to limit the freedom of the American people, the state of Montana has created a new law, dubbed the Montana Firearms Freedom Act, which exempts from Federal regulation all firearms, firearm accessories (including silencers), and ammunition manufactured within its borders, so long as it is properly marked "Made in Montana" and it does not cross state lines.

Of course, Obama and Eric Holder have already filed suit (amazing how many lawsuits the DOJ has filed against states -- whose side are these people on???). If guns and ammunition are manufactured inside the State of Montana for sale and used inside that state, then the federal firearms laws have no applicability since the federal government only has the power to control commerce across state lines. Montana has the law on their side.

Idaho, Texas, and many other states are introducing similar laws.

Leftists need to understand that States created the Federal Government and not the other way around!!

NO......, and no, because when the government begins taking your rights away, with the excuse of protecting others, they will star controlling your life.

That's why we have our constitution, to protect us from the government (tyranny).

    Liberty vs Tyranny!!!!

Any control would "infringe" the right to keep and bear arms. It would also be inflationary and interfere with legitimate capitalism, protecting storefront retailing over mail order. For those unaware but quick to comment, note that ammunition is not particularly dangerous to ship. It's just heavy when in quantity. 1000 rounds is reasonable for shippers to handle in one package. The best price is usually quoted at 1000 rounds, encouraging buyers to order that much at one time.

Sure - as long as you are lawfully purchasing them and can plan ahead, tighter controls seem like a reasonable nuisance.

Since we have the right to keep and bear arms, why should we not have the right to purchase ammo for them?

Personally I only purchase to replace what I shoot because I already have the ammount I want for each weapon.

I think it would be very wise to do so, and it wouldn't hurt to check out the one making the purchase.

I agree with the top comment.however, every action taken less than some real gun control is a band aide. every gun owner has the knowledge and ability to make their own ammunition.

I do support getting someones ID..... and not selling to felons...... doing a background check and all.... registering.... because of mean people...... but, I also think innocent people who just want to protect themselves should be able to purchase whatever they want....
peace and love to ya, my friend♥
