I'm intolerant of intolerance. That's about it. What exactly am I being bigoted about here? I'm showing you pure statistics! How am I exactly out of my mind when I'm providing you with sources and evidence and proving my argument? California doesn't speak for the rest of the states, anyway. And, really? "My boy, Obama"? I hate politics, and he's not "my boy" simply because we both support gay marriage. Just because you find it an absurd concept doesn't mean that everyone else in the world agrees. How exactly have you been tolerant about the fact that gay people exist and that they obviously have supporters when I've shown you the facts and you refuse to believe it? The evidence is right in front of your face, if you refuse to believe that it is true, then go carry on your life of ignorance and nonacceptance (: But no, I will not thank God for people who have only shown me their hateful, intolerant, and ignorant side, sorry. All you've done in this discussion is expressed you're unwillingness to back up your cause with real data because you think that your disapproval of the gay lifestyle is enough. Too bad it's not... And too be honest, I'd rather not discuss anything who is unwilling to listen or come up with a logical statement rather than a mere opinion. So if that's all you have to offer, I'm done.
You didn't show any statistics and your ignorance is amazing. Marriage exist between man and woman and that's not that difficult to grasp. You wish to change it to mean something else but that is simply beyond man's control. What you want is intelligent people like me to see the worst knock of something real as a perfect copy. Even the majority of the minority don't in their hearts see your perversion as a marriage. They're just to insecure and weak to speak their minds. Don't want to offend anyone or have people not like them. Cowards is what they are and your actions are offensive.
No statistics? I gave you two links with many, many polls. Those are statistics. And majority obviously do agree with me by the looks of them. Saying that they are too weak to "speak their minds" is hardly a good argument. How can you speak for them, anyway? Are you claiming that you're God and can read everyone's thoughts and know the reason behind all their actions? Everyone has a different opinion and I guess you just aren't willing to see it or accept it. Love is love. That's all I want people to see. And marriage, for most, is based on love, not your specific God.
People change, and new generations come in. Polls do NOT stay the same throughout the years. If you actually looked at the ones I posted, you would see that, for the most part, majority of the people support it! Seriously? How can you just dismiss the polls that I should that say on average, 49-54% of all adults in the US support it? That's clear evidence, and you keep on refusing to believe and accept it! You haven't shown me any facts, yet that is all I give you. So, until you stop just ignoring me and persisting on the same argument that completely goes against the fact that I've found, I'm done here.
You don't get it. You made an absurd claim that 60 percent of our parent's generation supported it. In the last election not even half of California supported it. Remember that California is the most Liberal State in the union and has more gays than any state. Most people aren't going to speak how they feel in public. That's why votes are anonymous.
And I showed you studies that proved that it was not absurd, did I not? If the poll said that 69% of adults under 30 support it, why is 60% of my parent's generation(who are not quite 40) absurd? And if majority of the people truly do not agree with gay marriage, then why would they change their opinion in a public poll? It's not like they would change their vote to the minority side in a public poll. Realize that these polls include all of the US. I'm not just talking about Cali. And there are, I believe, 8 states now who have made it legal. And a few more that I have heard of that are strongly considering making it legal. Just because Cali doesn't have it legal, doesn't mean it's impossible for majority of the other states to make it legal too.
I didn't show you facts? How are you possibly claiming that those websites with polls aren't facts? Whatever, I'm done here if you're going to continue to ignore me and what I have to say. Have a nice day.
So why does the state have anything to do with marriage? Marriage was defined by Christ and embraced by religion everywhere as a union between man and woman.
The state legally recognizes people as married, does it not? And obviously it's not just a religious tradition when nonbelievers do get married. It's a huge sin to not believe in God, yet Atheists can marry.
Don't care what the state does or doesn't recognize as they simply can't make it a marriage anymore than I can claim the moon. Marriageis a union between man and woman. The Bible clearly states non believers can marry.
But the Bible isn't how the US is run. And only do religious texts state that marriage is between a man and women. So that is, of course, what you believe. And believe whatever you want, by all means, but do not bereft others from happiness just because your religion says so. That is my point here.
Not at all. I am a supporter of God and gay marriages and I know many, many people who are as well. Just my stance, I do not, however, want to you rant to me about how your religion teaches that it is wrong and how I must not be a true believer in God then. I've heard too much of that.
Our language has been changed enough - time to stop changing the meaning of words. If same sex couples want to live together, they certainly can and it's OK by me, but MARRIAGE is that holy union between man and woman and I want it to remain that way. It has worked for centuries, no need to change it to suit a small minority of whiners.
Words change meanings, get used to it. It's a natural part of language. The fact that one in America (and many other nations) can no longer legally exchange their daughter for three goats and a cow show that the definition of marriage has already been redefined once before, and it will change again. Marriage is also not a religious institution, because if it was one, people without religion, such as agnostics or atheists (such as myself) would not be able to marry.
"MARRIAGE is that holy union between man and woman..."
If that is true then the parents of fair number of my and siblings friends did an excellent job of sucking all that's holy out of it even if they didn't get divorced.
Language constantly changes, it's outside of anyone's control.
When was the last time you said awful and meant full of awe like of the Lord?
WOW!...Seems the only issue on this site is the need for pervo marriages. GET A LIFE LOSERS!
But on the other hand, DO get married, and learn what it feels like losing half your stuff in a divorce settlement ...HAHAHAHA!
by definition NO. Call it something else not marriage and then introduce legislation that goes along with it. I am not homphobic and I believe people love one another but this actually opens a floodgate for other things probably completely unrelated
I don't care what consenting people do behind closed. Marriage is between one man and one woman and not two men and and two women. Call it civil union or something else and go from their.
You need to do more studies...many churches are splitting because of the "New Age" dictating to the older generation that "GAY is IN"...however, it isn't, especially in traditional churches...so, how is Sweden doing these days, with the Muslims taking over so much of the traditional culture and throwing it out?
California doesn't speak for the rest of the states, anyway. And, really? "My boy, Obama"? I hate politics, and he's not "my boy" simply because we both support gay marriage. Just because you find it an absurd concept doesn't mean that everyone else in the world agrees.

"I'm not homophobic BUT - - - "
speaks volumes.
