Uh yeah under the constitution ALL humans are provided the right to pursue happiness or are you saying gays are not humans? Human meaning United Stated citizens.

Think again why would our founding fathers have it any other way? They would never exclude certain races, groups of people as this is not what our country was founded on. And further more keep religion out of this as it has no bearing on our rights as a person. God did not afford us these rights.

    Our founding fathers did.

A lot better than with a bunch of bigots and haters of a group of people. Why single out a group? Are they not allowed in your church as Jesus said all are welcome in the house of God?

Such hypocrites the "christian" people are.

UMMM, why are we talking about Obama? Thought this was a thread on gay marriage? But since you brought it up we have amended the constitution to state that both parents do not have to be a US citizen.

    * There is an exception in the law — the person must be "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States. This would exempt the child of a diplomat, for example, from this provision.

Anyone falling into these categories is considered natural-born, and is eligible to run for President or Vice President. These provisions allow the children of military families to be considered natural-born, for example.

Pay attention to the quoted lines I made.

I doubt it would affect my marriage of (almost) 54 years, but I see from the little chart above that a large majority of folks my age seem to think it will somehow destroy the world as we know it. Get over it people, they should have the same rights as the rest of us. It hasn't been many years since interracial marriage was against the law in several states. Everyone survived that change and I'm sure we'll survive same sex marriage when it comes.

What's the difference? A church ceremony? The state issues a marriage licence. The seperation of church and state comes in here. No one is requiring any church to marry same sex couples. It's all about equality and nothing more.

Tru dat dear, but some of us Christians will most likely never support state sanctioned marriage bewteen two same-sex people, as long as our own convictions state that God instituted marriage a long time ago.

You need to look a little closer as to the one man one woman thing. Your bible is full of other marriage concepts.

This is the same tactic they use in SF. They start you off with a $1 dollar tax. By the end, you end up with $50 dollars tax. They start you off with Civil Unions. Then they sue the Churches. Sorry, this old strategy doesn't fly.
  • Jayne Borat O... 2012/05/29 12:57:50

Every thing with religion is taken to extreems. All churches should be sued for the false promices that they sell. Keep religion out of the marriage thing. It has absoolutely nothing to do with that BS.

and it is unconstitutional for a certain group of people to be forceing ter ideals onto everyone else. If a group says no we will not support this then it is not your american right to force them to except what they see as wtong forcing them to go against their own idea's. That is one of the things that forced the southern states to secede from the union and started the American civil war.

And by the looks of things right now not a da,m thing has changed and the north is doing the same damn thing again 150 years l;ater.

"and it is unconstitutional for a certain group of people to be forcing their ideals onto everyone else." You obviously do not know your nations constitution very well (or likely at all), because the overly-religious conservatives of South Carolina enacted a ban on same sex marriage, thus enforcing their religious ideology upon the population of the state.

never ceases to amaze me, somehow gay marriage is a civil war matter, ..you had to get that in there somehow....anyway, by saying that can't get married, you're not forcing your ideals on them though?

the homosexuals are simply angree, mad and hatefull people that are bitching because they could not force their new idea on Carolina.

So far I have yet to meet an angry, mad as hell gay person. All of them I know or have met are by all means polite and very into the community as people. Also, people need to get off the idea that they are ALL sex starved, drug crazed, on the hunt for teens people.

Put in straight people and you get the same thing. Some straight people are just mad because they are in this world. And all the so called christians have to read their bible again.

Jesus said do NOT hate those for they are an abomination or even to kill them. Jesus welcomed them with open arms just he did for all sinners.

Hey why is it OK for the church people to force their ideas on us if it unconstitutional? Yep go ahead explain that. And further more gays only are asking for recognition of their unions in the States of America.

Also they do not parade around every street corner looking for sex, drugs, teenagers to turn and so on.

Then explain it to me why it is OK for religion to push their agenda on people. They do it all the time! How would you like it if we decided that all religion will be banned from our country? We have voted and said no religion. Would you sit by and let it go? Hell no!

They would all be the courts so fast your head will spin crying we are being targeted by the people. When you force an opinion on a select group of people like prop 8 it violates their civil rights period.

If any of your ancestors were a part of the slave era you know what I am talking about. Segregation, only certain places you were allowed to go and so forth. This is the same thing.

Churches have nothing to do with it. If anyone can get married anywhere then we have to see that it is allowed with gays. If only churches performed ceremonies that is entirely different.
