Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act also known as CISPA is a proposed law in US goverment which would allow the sharing of internet traffic information between the goverment and certain manufacturing companies. The stated aim of the bill is to investigate cyber threats and ensure the security of networks against cyber attacks. Companies in favor include Facebook, Microsoft and the United States Chamber of Commerence. Critics of the bill and supporters of internet privacy rights argue that the governemt is using this bill to have a reason to surveil the american people. Also some argue that bill has too few limits on how and when the goverment may monitor the peoples private internet browsing. Other critics oppose the law because they feel it is just another SOPA. The bill has already past in House of Representatives on April 26. Presisent Obama has already threatened to veto the bill stating it lacks confidentiality and civil liberties safeguards. Tell me what you think of it?
