    It would depend on what the tax was intended to pay for and how much it was. I am thinking it would most likely be used for bridge and road repair which needs to be paid for in order for me to keep on driving places safely, so even though it wouldn't make me happy I would pay it.

    A mileage tax would hurt many people who have to travel to different places such as myself to work. It costs $120.00 a week in gas to travel to provide for my family.

    A mileage tax is supposed to cover road maintenance and repair.

    That's why we pay added taxes on our tires and our gasoline when we buy them.

    Where is all the money we've been paying? If they can't use those taxes properly, why on earth would anyone think paying even more taxation would be effective? They will just continue misappropriating the money to other things as they've been doing.

    I am hoping you met mileage. While it is better than a generic gas tax, as a usage tax I don't want government to GPS me nor businesses. However ridding all taxes in favor of a sales taxes at federal and state levels I would support. This is because gas taxes would drop from current levels down to the sales tax level, thus lowering the price on all goods and services. The problem I have with current federal taxes is the usage and sharing do not balance. i. e. California, Texas, Kansas, Illinois, New York all have many highways for long stretches, However take Delaware how many highways do they have? The proportion of use is odd that why should a Californian pay for Highways they don't use in Conneticut? Or why should a Georgian pay for highways in Alaska? Direct use does relate to trucking prices of goods and services but compensation is that gas prices would be lowered if gas taxes were at the proposed sales tax rates.
