Do you say "under God" when saying the pledge of allegiance?

You!

I ask because today at my sister's high school graduation a man in front of me conspicuously left out "under God" when saying the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

Complete foolishness. (And proven to be foolishness by many of the comments below. Saying a set of words doesn't make you a patriot. Neither does wearing a cheap flag shaped lapel pin. Neither does placing your hand over your heart. Or standing when everyone else feels compelled to do so. Too bad so many think that it does.)

My country doesn't have "under God" in the pledge

When I was going to school in America this year (I left now) I was silent on the under god part... Now I don't have to say the pledge anymore, I guess.

I don't even say the pledge anymore.
I said it once, don't need to say it again.

It doesn't really matter what I believe in. It's just how the pledge goes, so I stick with it. However, I've started to just mouth the pledge instead of actually saying it, because it feels weird to hear my own voice among others'. I don't know why. I just like being quiet, I guess.

To not say Under God is a failure to actually say the pledge.
The Students should have said Under God even if there was only one American there.

Oh brother. That's pure hog wash. Not pleding allegiance to your country because you don't say specific words? If only it were so simple.

So, when Timothy McVey said the pledge he had full allegiance to his country? Sorry but you're terribly mistaken on this one. Simply saying anything doesn't make it so. You can say you're a car all day long. Still doesn't make you one. Actions matter. Pledges......not so much.

I can't remember the last time I had to recite it. I don't believe there should be pledge, let alone one corrupted with a deist interjection. It's not a prayer.

Children standing in formation pledging their allegiance to a country and a concept they don't yet fully understand and haven't the brain capacity to make their own choice one way or the other? Sounds a lot like communism to me.

I think I was only 5 when they put it in so yes for me it was always in the pledge. I don't say the pledge today as it makes little sense and it is treating the flag as a god,

I don't say the pledge of allegiance anymore because I'm not in school, but is probably not say "Under God." I also think the chant is kind of misguided. The forefathera of this country made it clear to never trust your government, always question it's decisions and to take up arms against it if infringes upon your rights. There should be a chant that says, "I pledge allegiance to my family and to my country so long as my country always governs by the constitution." If you want to insert your imaginary friend in there at the end than so be it, but the spirit of the pledge should make it implicitly clear that country is not above all things, especially if your country goes off the reservation. Blindly following and pledging allegiance (especially when you're too young to really make that choice or understand what you're pledging allegiance to) is kind of ridiculous.

I am a member of Rotary and they begin each meeting with the pledge. I refuse to say it primarily because Rotary is an international organization and I see little point in saying it.

He blocked me but he is a bit of a surprise. On his profile he has ""When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying a cross." Sinclair Lewis 1935

Shame he doesn't realize that fascism has arrived just as Sinclair predicted.

I had already made that point numerous times here and on other polls.. To have a wussy little busy body like you add your unwanted 2 cents is just an annoyance and a clear display of the childishness I expect from him and his ilk.

One sign of maturity which you obviously have no clue about is when to let the idiots argue and whine amongst themselves. Well you two can have t it
