Actually, I prefer illegal alien. The word Immigrant implies some sort of intent to migrate permanently to another country and detracts from the actual act of being in our country illegally.

What kind of an analogy is that one? If I am caught speeding I show my license and ID and pay my $60.00. If an "illegal" is caught speeding the process is a bit more complicated than that. I think you're confused.
The process of speeding is illegal of course. An illegal alien is simply illegal.

They're not the same thing. Many illegals were brought here by their parents and have lived here their entire lives. They go to school , pay taxes and in every way are American except on paper.
The intolerance of people crossing arbitrary borders to feed their family is a symptom of a society in decline.
The US is creating a society without empathy and only interested in personal gain.
It's a complete reversal of what this country was supposed to be and it's a result of the rising inequality created by the market system we laughingly call an economy.

Most are coming for work, they are too poor to get the legal paper work in their own country, and they need to feed their families. Many come at great risk. Crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor.
