Actually, I prefer illegal alien. The word Immigrant implies some sort of intent to migrate permanently to another country and detracts from the actual act of being in our country illegally.

I am decided, but the term I use is rather old-fashioned and not politically correct.

    ILLEGAL ALIEN

    Edit:
Why, to those of you who do not know me, I am not politically correct and the original term is the most accurate.

Alien is a term referring to a foreign national within the US. A legal foreign national would have a visa that is in effect.

I loathe political correctness since it serves to sugar-coat and hide the truth about what issues really are. Undocumented worker is a PC term and assumes that any non-citizen in the US illegally is a worker. Not always the case. One has to be an illegal immigrant or alien first to be an undocumented worker. I have no problem whatsoever with foreign born visitors in America who have proper and legal work visas or legitimate student visas or if they are just visiting as long as they respect US laws. I believe foreign born visitors enhance America and make it a richer place but those who sneak in make it worse and make those who come here legally look bad. Illegals also make it more difficult for legal immigrants to gain citizenship status and work permits. Few if any other countries in the world have as much tolerance for immigrants as America does but you won't here that from the badly slanted news creators. Also citizenship status is far less stringent entering America than entering into and becoming a Mexican citizen.

because that's exactly what they are. There is no pussy-footin' around it, they have not paid their dues like other immigrants that did what was REQUIRED of them to become an American citizen.

They act without thought to the legal aspects of becoming a citizen, because they want instant gratification, now, now, NOW! Grrrrrrr. They are NO BETTER than the ones who came here and commited themselves to execute the requirements necessary by the LAW as written. Pretty arrogant if you ask me. But no one did, sooo, . . . I keep my comments on that subject for places like online opinion polls. :D

Not offensive??? They ain't all working! They are on the government dole. Decimating our resources for our poor and needy. Food Pantrys, Food stamps, government reduced-priced housing (Section 8), use of Emergency Room medical treatment as opposed to regular doctor visits that require co-pays and insurance or CASH!

They are gimme, gimme, gimme with NO SHAME or restitution. Just ask a REAL Mexican-American what they think and you'll get an earful and probably more than you want to hear.

"Ilegal" defines the root of the problem-that they are here illegally, & therefore SHOULDN'T BE!

I think it's disgusting that Holder wants to enforce battling Texas over the voter ID issue-why should the Feds be allowed to do that? If the Texas legislature passed it into law?

It's criminal politics from the White House, Holder does the dirty work-it stinks! They want the illegals to vote for Obama, that's why!

Ebattling Arizona, sueing them, & trying to make Sheriff Joe, who is enforcing the laws he was elected to do, & making him seem like a joke, is also part of Obama's campaign-now Sheriff Joe found the guy-95 yrs old, who 1st made out Obama's birth certificate, & is writing a book on it. Obama's camp, & his cronies in Hawaii, are of course, just making fun of him, but the truth will be told (it already has, plenty of times). People don't want to admit their mistakes.

I am not happy with illegal immigrants because, in fact, they are not immigrating, they've moving in illegally. Illegal is illegal, do not care what sweet sounding word you put with it. If you haven't immigrated through our system of laws, you have broken said law and are here ILLEGALLY.

Undocumented worker doesn't work either. You are an illegal taking the job from someone who is here legally or born here and is a citizen.

Illegal immigrant is accurate. Illegal alien is better. These are people who have crossed the border illegally or who have illegally overstayed their visa. Another proper term is crimmigrant.
The softened up PC term from the left, "undocumented worker," tries to ignore the fact that these people are (blatantly, knowingly, and deliberately) breaking the law.

It is an honest label. An illegal immigrant can get a tax ID for use in paying income taxes. Once they have that ID they are documented, but they are still illegal.

I prefer the term Illegal Alien. It's in the dictionary, look it up.

Undocumented worker is just silly... Those people have plenty of fake and legal documentation.

Illegal Immigrant is just stupid, If someone wants to Immigrate then they have to go through the proper process and stand in line the same as everyone else. If they are here illegaly and chose not to use the correct process, then they are here as Illegal aliens.

I dont think they should be called illegal if they got a work permit. Illegal means they shouldnt be here at all. Alien makes them sound like they came from another planet, and undocumented wouldnt fit for those who got a work permit either. The only ones that are truly illegal are those that sneaked in without a visa or work permit.

They're not illegal if they have a work permit. If they have a work permit, they are now a documented worker. Of course, that was before Obama decided he'd give work permits to those here illegally. But... hell... that's illegal, too. He bypassed Congress to do it.

Migrant workers? Well, I guess there are legal migrant workers (they have work permits) and there are illegal migrant workers (they have no right to be here at all). Of course, there are legal criminals (legal citizens) and illegal criminals (illegal aliens), too.

And yes he did. He bastardized prosecutorial discretion which is to be used for individuals, not wholesale groups.
