Confidence in Facebook's growth potential and marketability is dwindling, and now claims that Facebook ads don't work are threatening to shake it even more. According to Forbes, Facebook is jumping on damage control because General Motors dropped its $10 million in Facebook advertising. Not that $10 million is much to Facebook, but the message it sends could be disastrous.
To address the situation, Facebook outlined what a good ad should include: a focal point, brand link, tone, reward, noticeability, and finally, a point. If an ad doesn't have those things, it risks being ignored. Of course, companies like General Motors would argue that it's the platform that needs work, rather than the ads themselves.
