Do You Mind Other Social Networks Tying Into Facebook?

Facebook isn't just about your face anymore. It's not about your friends' faces, either. The largest social network in the world has turned into a content hub that perpetually feeds users the information they want -- and feeds the world information about them in return. Of course, that's not always a good thing. A few months ago, Facebook launched internal apps for external social networking sites like Pinterest and Rotten Tomatoes, and now posts on those sites are showing up on Facebook.

It's all optional, obviously, but think about it. Facebook just bought Instragram, a free program with no revenue, for $1 billion, and much of Facebook's value is in its potential for growth. What if Instagram suddenly required a Facebook account to use? We've already seen some programs that require that. Spotify is the most notorious instance; Vevo is another. Do you mind all the the tie-ins to Facebook or is it all just a little too connected for your taste?

There are times when I want to join something without having to let it post stuff on my fb. Or I don't want them access to info I have there.

I do not want to give a reply...if I am being forced to use a Facebook log-in...then it grabs it and makes it go to an already crowded Facebook timeline.

300 messages a day is already beyond my ability to manage, in Yahoo, Facebook, and others. I have other things to do. I already am inundated by messages, where I cannot respond to some, and they get lost...

Although I enjoy typing opinions...sometimes it goes into overkill, and I really do not appreciate Facebook trying to force me to share it on their site. My plate is already full.

I do not want every single option or reply I make online going to every Facebook entry, and Yahoo, and Twitter. It's ridiculous. When I place opinions on here, I already skip the 'broadcast' phase...as it is overkill...and my friends are in the same shape.

What I would love to see would be better ways to organize messages than these sites already have...so it is not so messy...especially the meandering Facebook logs.

Facebook really is a monster of the internet of its own. More like a black hole - sucking every other site in to be linked into it somehow.

    ISN'T THAT RIGHT, SODAHEAD??

It bothers me cause of all this talk about employers who feel it is their best interest to know all about me. One thing I do not do on Facebook is talk about employers unless it is something worthy. Not the boss is the biggest a-h&&& crap. I avoid linking other sites with Facebook. I got here on Facebook, but I have a seperate log on now ,not linked with it. I had a friend recently tell me about some post on Facebook cause I liked a few PInup photography models & said that the likes & comments could go out to people that I would not want to see. That bugged me. Then the future employer password garbage.

The next thing you know is on a application for work employers want all our social meeting places & passwords so they can check them out. They have a rude awakening if that starts.

I hate and loathe everything about Fakebook. I avoid it ile the plague, but like the plague it is, it can't be avoided. I know that Fakebook is now a way of life, however I do not even want it in my life, I would like to live like it don't exist but kind of impossible when it is constantly shoved down our throats.

There are things I wish to keep SEPARATE .. and separate they shall be ..

I'm NOT interested in the Gaming .. I'm not there for post silly inane things ..
I'm NOT there to brag about wrong choices .. or try to post on every microsecond of life
(so do NOT need to know when x went to the potty .. or y decided to drink new pepsi light)

There's NO NEED to know or be this intrusive ..
NO ONE 'needs' .. all this info on life ..

There's only ONE Reason now why I even have a portion of a profile ..
Because it is a fast, easy way to share the Upcoming SCHEDULE of events for organizations I belong to .. volunteer with ..
(nothing else .. is wanted or desired).

I closed my Facebook account due to this stupid lifeline gimmick, I hated having to keep on revising my privacy settings all the time to keep other people's crap off my page. If they continue to merge I guess I'll just stay off all these sites and manage to live the rest of my life like I did before Facebook et al came along.

Technology will advance, regardless of facebook, and the internet is at the forefront of such a revolution. Even if facebook didn't exist...some site, some idea, would be making the same progress. The internet is the future.

I think facebook tying into other sites makes it easier for me to be active on other sites because I do not have to create a new account in order to do something on that site... I can juts connect with facebook! That is, after all, how I created an account here. :)

Of course there's risk in sharing personal information online but that's what you agree to when you click the registration button. If you get in trouble with it, it's your fault. Don't go whining to Congress to get them to impose protective regulations on the internet because they are looking for any excuse to do so but for reasons that are not in your best interest.

I deleted my account in Feb. They responded with it will take up to two weeks to delete it. I felt like they are gonna download those Delete Requests into one database for future use. It should not take NO TWO WEEKS for them to hit THEIR delete button.

Zuckerberg is in bed with Homeland Security! Please don't believe otherwise.
