Do You Mind Other Social Networks Tying Into Facebook?

Facebook isn't just about your face anymore. It's not about your friends' faces, either. The largest social network in the world has turned into a content hub that perpetually feeds users the information they want -- and feeds the world information about them in return. Of course, that's not always a good thing. A few months ago, Facebook launched internal apps for external social networking sites like Pinterest and Rotten Tomatoes, and now posts on those sites are showing up on Facebook.

It's all optional, obviously, but think about it. Facebook just bought Instragram, a free program with no revenue, for $1 billion, and much of Facebook's value is in its potential for growth. What if Instagram suddenly required a Facebook account to use? We've already seen some programs that require that. Spotify is the most notorious instance; Vevo is another. Do you mind all the the tie-ins to Facebook or is it all just a little too connected for your taste?

Isn't this what we do already, we socialize with people we don't even know personally on the internet.

Never give your password for any website to anyone, site or human, ever. If you do, you deserve everything you get.

I don't guess I really mind. I am actually really grateful to fb because every website has a "tie in" to them... even this website. I didn't have to create an account, anything. Just had to connect with my facebook, so much easier for me. I love that.

What is probably the more important question is why are people still using a site that for the last 3 years has been the number 1 source of malware contamination of domestic computers in the USA ? yes, Facebook!

I stopped using my Youtube account years ago since Google bought them out and I refuse to tell Google my whole life story. Google needs to respect our privacy and not put our houses over the Internet without our permission!!

I don't care what kind of profits they have.
However, I do care that they track everything I do and they do track.

Anyone that I email will come across my screen if they have a FB account. The miserable bastards even created an account for me, based on common interests and emails. The email account was an alter ego used foe another discussion board and storage.

I solve this little problem by not being a member of a thousand Social Networking sites, and only using Facebook.

Yes, it is good and convenient, but only if one prefers using the social media which are tying into each other. Otherwise, one may feel left out and annoyed by big social media's habit of tying into each other.

It is big social media’s very clever way of trying to pressure you into using their websites and, thus, monopolize social networking.

But, in light of how big social media like Facebook are doing questionable things with their user's personal information and accounts and how information travels around the Internet in general, this trend of big social media tying into each other will inevitably become less about convenience and more about new threats to personal privacy in due time.

Yes, it really aggravates me. I don't belong to Facebook and never will. Very frustrating when you try to register with another site and have to enter Facebook to join.
I just leave the site and don't go back.
    My choice.

Facebook and mark zurkerburg are part of the alluminatti and mark has proudly stated he was with them.. facebook is also part of cia and has close ties with cia and pentagon .it captures every persons profile and keeps record as a data base in the future the nwo and antichrist will tie into it as well. it already is brainwashing people with games like farmville to keep you so worried you have to take care of fake crops before they die !its another so called tower of babel. no you cant trust it

Personally I think it is a good idea. I am so many different things, such as facebook, twitter, Linkdin that is handy to be able to post one thing and for that message to go everywhere at once.
    One proviso.
It has to be optional and should be some sort of prompt like "do you want this posted to..."
  • RoseLyle Mark 2012/05/02 13:37:39

I think they do have that option now, if I am remembering right.
