Na, Dont like it when people point machine guns at me. I even got pics of it 1987. The theory/political practice, on paper may have some points, but in the end it is still control.
Doesn't work. Leftism is too egalitarian and "scientific" in general. But at least the USSR had its pride. Russia is so nihilistic and consumerist these days. I can see why you'd be a communist now!
I like the concept behind communism and think it can actually be successful in small societies such as a few tribes in Africa and South America that could be seen as communist. Unfortunately, history has shown that communism doesn't exactly work out too well in most large societies.
What I do know, is that the extreme of any ideology seems to fail miserably. From what we have learned, a mixture of many ideas makes the most vibrant, engaging, successful societies.
Those that would throw out babies with bathwater (health care plan? COMMUNIST! SOCIALIST!) are childish and ignorant.
No, its a totalitarian ideology that has murdered millions and continues to do so in North Korea. Its an oppressive tyranical form of government that puts the state before anything else.
North Korea is not communit. It is a dictatorship. Learn the differe ce. There is Marxism-Leninism which is good, and then there are "communists" who follow people like Stalin or the modern rulers of North Korea.
North Korea IS communist. Kim Il Song was HANDPICKED by Stalin to run North Korea. Stalin, Mao, Lenin, Castro, Che, Hugo Chavez, Pol Pot. They are all the same. Communism is the end justifies the means. Lenin was just as bad as Stalin the only difference was the scale. The STATE/Regime survival is priority number one in communism. Marxism-Leninism IS communism. DUH!

Not really, I do however admire Vladamir Lenin, not because of political views but because of what he wanted to achieve which was a place for everyone to be equal and happy and he fought for it, I can admire that part... But communism cannot work, if you want everybody happy communism doesn't work
To me Communism is no different from Libertarianism. Both rely on people being inherently altruistic which is not possible. People need a Federalist Government with a Mixed Economy to produce the best results. That means we have a free market with regulation to even the playing field. In my experience of people being on this site debating economic policy with me I noticed not many people know what I mean by mixed economy or understand my mindset so I'll do my best to explain here. Let's say there is a football game and all the competitors in the race represent corporations then you have a referee who represents the government as the game goes the teams rack up points(earn profits) and the referee(our government) makes sure the game is fair. Now it is true that their is a lot of red tape that limits efficiency but that can easily be streamlined because the way a government works is just like any mechanism that can be fine tuned and improved upon in time.
Yes. The pure form of Communism described by Marx, in a small group of like-minded and productive individuals, would be beneficial to all members. The result would be a utopia. But it's never been achieved, and maybe it never will be. After all, it's based off the premise that people will seek to do the right thing, working for the betterment of society as a whole rather than for their own personal advantage.
I'm fine with people voluntarily getting together and forming a communistic society without a state. But I am against anyone being *forced* to participate in any societal arrangement, which is what usually happens in state communism, or state capitalism too, for that matter.
Communism, for some reason, always looks good on paper, but it never works out. I am against it, of course. I do have to wager it would solve the whole illegeal alien problem though. They would stop sneaking in here if we went commie.
Yes. I think it is the best possible systems as it allows everyone to have a home, to have food, and to be equal. It also gets rid of pointless social-economic classes.
I think you aught to talk to the MILLIONS that were killed by Stalin. Or maybe the MILLIONS that were killed by MAO. Or the MILLIONS killed by Pol Pot. Oh, you can't. They're ALL DEAD.
Perhaps socialism, but not communism. If you had transitioned from feudalism to capitalism, you would still be a great power today. Instead you're a 2nd world country...
I am afraid it doesn't work on large scale but a mixed economy is better because it balances both capitalism and communism in a way so that you have the benefits of both with only half the problems of either. I also think it's a good idea for you to research all varieties of economic systems. There is more to economic philosophy than just capitalism and communism. Here are a few examples of alternative economic philosophies seeing as your open minded about the subject. The study of alternative economic models to the ones currently available is called Post Capitalism.

Just a few of the issues with Communism...although 100 Millon dead pretty much speaks for itself
Oh, you can't. They're ALL DEAD.
