I get very little from mine now. I am expecting any day to see it by the bunches.

Junk mail goes directly into the circular file. You'd think that the damn fools at the EPA would be on this one real fast but you hear nothing from them.

If LWNJs really cared about the environment, they'd tell their politicians to stop sending us all that junk mail. As a "senior citizen" I can definitively state that we (intelligent older people) do NOT like or love junk mail.

This question was made for me. I deliver the junk mail and most of my customers are senior citizens. It's not that they really like junk mail, it's more that they freak out when they get no mail. They complain that it's all junk but let them go two days with no mail and they're sure someone is stealing it or we're not delivering it.

The older people think ALL mail is very important! When my mother lived with us she used to bring me all her mail and I'd take one quick look at tell her to throw it away. She'd look at me like I was crazy!

I'm an "older people" and me & my other "old fart" friends do NOT like junk mail. Maybe you just route to liberal older people, because conservatives know the difference between good, constructive mail and silly, often political, junk mail.

You aren't older! I'm a conservative too and I'm telling you that OLDER people for the most part want mail! I'm not saying they love junk mail, I'm saying that they need some mail for their security. For example, today I had a package for an older man on my route and when he was signing for it he told me that his wife had died four months ago. I didn't realize that because the neighbors are all up north and it's usually the neighbors that keep me informed. After I gave him the proper condolences I left. About an hour later he comes out in his car and chases me down because he started thinking that because he told me she was deceased I might report it to someone and he would no longer get mail that comes in her name.

Let's face it...in reality what percentage of mail do you get that you'd consider "good constructive mail"? Mine is almost all ads, political organizations and just plain junk! I pay my bills on-line. I know no one likes junk mail but they need to consider without it the first class mail would cost an astronomical amount. So just trash it and be happy.

You are correct that some seniors do like getting mail, any mail. it often is true, especially, of those who are alone and isolated from family. For many it is something different in their day.

I am tempted to place my trash can next to my mailbox so I don't have to transport all that crap. I finally wrote to AARP and told them to STOP with their damn mail already. I've been getting their crap since I was 35 or there abouts. In my letter I bluntly told them I would NEVER give money to such wasteful Liberal sources. They stopped. LOL

That's a great idea. I'll carry my recycle bin out there. Or I'll take away my mailbox and replace it with the recycle bin.

I really don't get much anymore. AARP was the biggy. The rest I get is from local HVAC, Dentists and doctor offices. I like the idea of just replacing the mailbox though. My mail lady would get hoot out of that. Hahaha
