Do you have special traditions, come holiday season time?

Tianna 2009/12/05 15:18:13
I'm curious to know how people spend the holidays.... it doesn't matter which holiday your celebrating, or which religion belong too!! I would like to know how you spend your holidays.... I always have 2... one at my husband's family's house in the afternoon of Christmas Eve and my family's house for the evening.. my mom throws a super big party and normally doesn't end until 1-2 am Christmas day..... we also sing the twelve day of christmas... so stupid.. I hate it, but do it anyway.
You!

WE watch Frosty the snowman and all those Christmas specials on T.V. while stringing a popcorn garland for the Christmas tree.

Ever since I was a little kid I love to make chains from construction paper to hang around the house. This year I'm making them with my youngest brother Logan. He's so excited! A family thing we do on December 24 usually in the evening is we open our stockings.I always get a book, lifesavers,an apple and orange in mine.On the 25 for breakfast we eat the cookies, fudge and buckeyes that Santa Clause didn't finish.

Yeah we don't do the stocking stuffer stuff anymore, a little too old for that now (we are all over 18 now, all 5 of us) But it does sound like fun!!! Thanks for sharing

One of our Christmas traditions is everyone opens one present on Christmas eve. Only smaller ones though, usually something from the stocking.

Yeah, we do the whole thing. We do the tree, we feast, the Yule log, we do Kwanzaa and Hanukkah with the candles; hell we do them all and why not? It's all good.

I've been all over the world and just love the traditions of many cultures. I's fun, so it gets done. My own beliefs as a Pagan are in the mix.

Hmm...on the first and fifth nights of Hanukkah, I light the menorah, second and sixth, would be my brother lighting it, my little sister gets the third and seventh nights, and my youngest sister(with parental help) gets the fourth and eighth night. :)
During the eight nights, my family and I would play dreidl, and then accuse someone for cheating, ending the game early. I would also help make potato pancakes! (Yummy!) Um, oh, and then after that we'd each get our Hanukkah present, each getting one of the eight we all have, and then we are either happy or disappointed, depending on what's inside the box.
Then we go upstairs, and go to bed for the next night of Hanukkah! :)
