I retired from a school district 7 years ago and they are still paying for my health insurance. They will pay for it until I'm 65. I know how incredibly lucky I am to have this kind of insurance. I continue to pay (in my pension) $150 more a month additional so I can go to a doctor without going through a primary care physician. The district has increased the cost of health care, but I think I'm still getting a smoking deal. My health insurance won't be as good when I go on Medicare.
