Get the EPA off the farmers BACKS... let them irrigate, have water ponds, collect rain water... basically let them handle it and they will... the NAZIs at the EPA are CLUELESS.

Learn about irrigation. This isn't the first drought and won't be the last.

I think it should be studied for the future, rain making ideas, drill more deep wells, better water management.

Allow people to drill where they need it! I know, the government wants to try to dillute all of the plutonium and other poisons down in there, but perhaps we need LESS government so there are LESS people dreaming up ways to waste our money on ways to kill each other..
    Yeah right.

First I would have to know which states, Colorado farmers were having a terrible time because our current communist in charge will not let them pump water from there own wells. There is dam sure no shortage because all you here about is global warming and the Icebergs are melting. You can take saltwater and boil it to a vapor and then catch the vapor in condensers and have 100% distilled water , why doesn't the Government do that?

Teaching people how to conserve. Not MAKING them conserve....and if people could drill wells and irrigate with some of that conserved water.... all the better right? Los Angeles has had to conserve in a big way more than once. People upstream now need to do it. Times are tough!

In our area, they actually DO open the dams (flood gates) a little bit. Too bad there is no way to transfer some of that hurricane flood water from one place to another.

Allow the farmers to drill wells on their own land ( currently illegal in many states )
Allow farmers to create private ponds as long as they don't use common rivers or streams.
Reduce or Eliminate the EPA restrictions on irrigation

That is how they have been successful in my area....of course it needs to be legal in the state. But here there are vast ponds and irrigation canals that the pioneers built utilizing the runoff from mountains (snow and rain). Collection is made all during the year and then distributed via canal systems.

Farmer panic! Crops die as gov't blocks wells
Big Brother refuses to allow citizens to rescue harvest

"GREELEY, Colo. – Farmers in Colorado are watching their fields dry up amid one of the worst droughts in the state’s history.
But just a few feet beneath them, the water is so plentiful it’s flooding basements and causing septic systems to overflow.
Yet the government will not permit farmers to pump the water to save their crops."

Go to California Blast Mile or so wide holes through the mountain ranges, allowing the air from the Pacific Ocean to travel lower than it does now creating rainfall in what is now the Desert Creating new farmlands and Many Jobs.Doubt it will work?Ask the meteorologist, then start with only one to see how much changes, It would create a lot of work but it would Change the Weather too. If they Decide to do it all I ask is, call the first cut, BBLEE Pass! Ha Ha No really it would work, and the environmentalist's heads would explode! its a win win Proposition.
