Do you feel that PRESIDENT OBAMA understands what it takes to start any business??

Some people voted for Obama because of Gorge W Bush and the GOP economics policies, John McCain position on war, and John McCain vice president pick.

Geesh, this is like the 6th poll on this. It is true that there have been many smart and hard-working people who, unfortunately, had businesses that did not make it. And by the posts I've read, it looks like about 99% of the people on this site actually own a business, cool. But what he said was right, there have been things (like roads and bridges) that somehow helped your business (deliveries, customers driving to your business, whatever), so I don't understand why that is so hard to comprehend. You know Romney had a net worth of 150 to 250 million by 2007, are you sure he has a real idea about the struggles of owning a small business and the day to day dealings? Just saying.

Why am I not surprised? I feel the same way.

The flip side is Romney is successful at running a business while balancing the books. Obama has no such experience to call upon other than suing business as is typical of lawyers. No wonder business is suffering in this country!

Business provided the revenue for the infrastructure, not the goverment. So in essence they certainly did "build that"!

The point was tax dollars that were paid by most everyone, built things like the roads. A successful business does not equal a good presidential candidate. It that was the case then Ross Perot should have been elected years ago. But anyway, have a great evening!

The point was without revenue created by business commerce roads would not have funding.

A successful community organizer does not equal a good president. If that was the case then Al Sharpton should have been elected years ago.

No that wasn't the point. The point was everyone is up in arms because he said "you didn't build that" when he was talking about the roads and bridges. They were paid for by tax payers, middle class too (whether or not they owned a business, they just payed taxes on what they made). Please the comparison to Al Sharpton is stupid and you know it. Sorry, but a successful business weasel doesn't make for a good president.

I don't think so Hazel. I've had a lot of experience in the work force and still do. I'm fairly active in my community and I am intelligent enough to read up on things to come to my own conclusions about things. So thanks, but I'm good.

I've started 7 businesses over the past 20 years, some successes and some failures, Obama hasn't a clue what it takes to be a small business owner. For him to site ubiquitous influences as a reason to redistribute my personal property is straight up anti-American!

ZERO! Barry hasn't a clue of how this nation became the economic engine or the greatest economy in the world. He believes it was all because of the Collective and Government mandates. He doesn't realize that the horse and buggy was here before government roads and that Henry Ford didn't create the best automobile manufacturing business in the world because there were all these beautiful roads available to drive on. The Cotton Gin was not invented because the government funded it or mandated it invented. The refrigerator was not invented because the government mandated it be so. He is attempting to put the cart ahead of the horse or the chicken back in the egg. Infrastructure is a given responsibility of government, BUT would not be had it not been for the ingenuity and innovation of the individuals.

Very few who have never been successful in running a business. Make it past the first year. He has never built anything but a dubbie, and he was probably good at that. But that's the only thing he was good at. And no matter how hard he tries, or what lies he listens to from his Socialist Progressive Communist Advisers tell him, he does not understand the world of business or the qualities of Capitalism vs any kind of Social Engineering System.

Trying to explain economics to Obama would be like trying to explain a rainbow to an earthworm! American capitalism and the free enterprise system are alien concepts to this guy.
